I thought for a minute it was a re-opening today, as the traffic build up from that intersection back to Anzac Hwy was outrageous.

Yeah right .. It was a little longer ago for me, but they were always free. It's not big money involved, just took me by surprise. It's great getting/being old lol

I was at primary school 96-04 and lunch order bags went up in price over that period, I remember them being about 10/20c

Typo lol that's ment to be 96 where I started in the second half of the year and then 97 I did a full year of reception so effectively did 6 months of reception.

I asked my mum and she reckons it was 10c towards the end of my primary school time.

My mum was a smart cookie and wised up to this racket by about year 2 and just bought plain brown paper bags and would hand write everything on it

Continued right through to year 12 when I was fortunate enough to have a double free between recess and lunch. Was first in line every Friday and ended up having to pull rank on the primary school kids who got out to lunch earlier than the high school when they got out of line for the canteen staff. Oh the Power

My first year of High School was 1997, and I remember I could get an 500mL orange juice and a pie for $2.

Before school, I'd hit the local deli, and a 600mL Coke was $1.70!

And that's just for the Coke!

Plus a finger bun, when I first started High School.
Mind you, the oj was Orange Grove, which was looked down on by all the snobby Nippy's drinkers.
Is Orange Grove still around?
