After winning the 2010 Premiership I can see how he might have come to regret his decision.

North Melbourne sniffed around and got Brad Scott instead of Bucks and Eddie Made sure Bucks would be coach. Mick got screwed, Collingwood more than likely got Mick to say he was loosing passion. Prime example Mark Thompson, is burnt out and coaching Essendon as an assistant.
Yep, that's it, Collingwood made Mick say these things. Honestly, some of the shit that people spurt...

Dude there has been many a sports team that has had a coach come out and be prepared before hand to say something from a statement. It is to make the fans think all is well within the club when it well and truly isn't. You could tell when Eddie announced the succession plan Mick wasn't really keen but knew he had no choice. Honestly if Mick was all for this director of Coaching gig he would still be there. He never was interested in it. He will be back coaching soon enough.

Initially, all parties were happy with the succession plan. Collingwood had floated the idea of getting rid of Mick then and there, but I believe it was Ed who intervened and suggested he be given two more years.
Obviously the premiership success reignited Mick's passion, but by then the deal had been done.
