denied by its writers.
I agree. It's an urban legend. Even the conspirators best explanation barely makes sense in the context of a song written for children. It's a shame if it's now been banned for kids.
You could take any kids song or story and read more into it than is there if you chose to take it down adult theme lines (ie, "wake up Geoff, everybody's Wiggling"

). Themes the author never intended. Says more about those reading too much into it.
