How could I forget myself, Mrs G and Junior G on page 5 of the crapvertiser late last year. Talked to Mrs G for about 20 minutes and managed to publish one line of their discussion! Big half page photo which I still get reminded of!

The photo has been removed but here's the story!!

THE TAB is still taking bets on a Port Lincoln horse in the rich Epsom Handicap at Royal Randwick - even though it was put down almost three weeks ago.
PORT Lincoln-trained racehorse Chickaloo shattered a front leg during a race at Cheltenham Park on September 9 forcing SA Jockey Club vets to prevent further suffering.

But the TAB still thinks he's a chance of winning the $600,000 feature race.

Yesterday, TAB Sportsbet was still accepted bets on Chickaloo for the Group 1 Epsom Handicap and was listing the horse a $201 chance to win the race.

The official Thoroughbred Racing SA stewards' report from the September 9 race meeting at Cheltenham Park states: "Chickaloo was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon who reported the gelding had suffered multiple fractures to its off fore pastern and was euthanased."

Avid Port Lincoln punter **** ****, 30, saw Chickaloo in the Epsom market and went to his local TAB to put $5 on the horse "as a joke".

He stands to collect $1005 if the horse wins but Mr **** doesn't like his chances.

"I knew the horse was put down and I thought it was strange to see it in the market, so I went to the TAB to see if they'd take my money," he said.

"The bet was accepted but rather than cancel it and get my money back I thought I'd keep the ticket to show what a joke it is that you can waste your money on a horse that's dead.

"You'd think the bookies would know the horse isn't even alive so they shouldn't even have it in the market.

"It's ridiculous they can blindly take money off of people like that."

Earlier this week, Chickaloo was listed as a $151 chance for the Epsom, with TAB Sportsbet later easing his price to its current $201 quote. "I thought $201 was good value," Mr **** joked yesterday.

Have been on TV twice, but only a snipet both times.

First time was in yr 12 when John Howard (PM at the time) visited our school and spoke with year 12 students as part of community representation (I went to school with Trish Drapers sons). I was on the news shaking hands with the PM.

2nd time was at the footy last year, port vs north at etihad- Ben Warren kicked a goal and i was seen marking the ball behind the goals for a split second before the camera switched back to play.

Nothing amazing but still

I think he may even post on SAFooty just not in the general discussion section ;)

They must have run that competition in multiple years because I know Heath Thorpe (then at Kangarilla, now at Mundulla I think) definitely won it one year.

When I was working in a hotel/restaurant in England in 2002 we had Jamie Oliver shooting a tv show there. It was the original Jamie's Kitchen when he took the 'disadvantaged' kids and turned them into chefs. It was the first ever batch of students who originally opened 'Fifteen' in London.

We had 2 apprentice chefs do work experience at our joint and had camera crews, sound guys etc. etc. hanging around, especially when Jamie would turn up to see them. The two students were lazy and acted as if they were Michelin rated chefs and stars when realistically they were useless. If anyone remembers the show they would remember Kerry-Anne, who was one of ours! I've never actually seen the show but apparently there are snippets of me. Most of the footage from our place was edited out.

Watch this space- I'm going to be in the Australian. :D

At work today I was walking out of the workshop about 3ish and saw our production manager Steve and his bosses, the managers above him walking around with a couple of guys who turned out to be from the Australian newpaper. I said hi to Steve as they were walking into the lift to up into the building when he called me over and asked me to come with them. He introduced me to the two guys from the Australian and they asked me a few questions about working at ASC, being an apprentice, living in Adelaide and the Port Adelaide area. Then we went upstairs and into the workshop where the cameraman took some photos of me standing on one of the ship modules. I'm not sure what day it will be in but I can't wait to see it. :P

a few years ago i was getting escorted out of the north glenelg game at the bay and channel 2 flinged the cameras my way , and from memory were slagging me i think(could be wrong). they actually stopped the game for a few minutes because the boundry umpire after a goal told the midfield umpires that i was abusing him and threatened him. weslo grabbed me, and just after that the cameras come on me telling them to f*** off get ur hands off me i can bloody walk ya know lol. it actually wasnt even me that was the abuser(also trying to explain that to weslo) but copped it anyway. think i was coming back from the toilet or something and they rushed me lol. lucky we were copping a flogging at the time anyway. gave me the shits though because that day i was quiet and copped it anyway lol.

Then in 1995/1996 I tried out for the long distance kicking comp at Footy Park, conducted by Today Tonight. I remember Leigh McLusky was due to host the entire thing but was stuck in traffic so the little bloke (still with Today Tonight) hosted and interviewed us individually.I finished 4th from memory, after having a kick off during a Crows Western Bullies game. Prize was to be at the game! I think first won some money - can't recall. The guy who won, Stuart someone from Henley or Greek kicked 86m that day with room to spare. I struggled like blazers to get 58 or 59 from memory that day. He sh1t it in as the saying goes!

Edit might've been this show: http://thebestjudge.files.wordpress.com ... 976_ps.jpg at 4pm on Seven. Note that till 11.30 on Ch 7 in the morning the only viewing was the test pattern.

Was Scotty McArdle in that too?

Can't recall MP, which club did he play for?

At the World Cup in Germany 2006, SBS got coverage of me and a group of Aussies with flags draped around drinking steins of beer in Kaiserslautern, my mum rang about 5 minutes later saying we looked like drunken yobbo's.
Then in the 2007 A-League GF sports tonight were interviewing the Adelaide fans as they filed out in the 70th minute and the stupid reporter asked if we enjoyed the game
