Alot of people dont know but Brisbane is built on a flood plan. Hence the reason its prone to flooding. Without the Wivenhoe dam there would be nothing of brisbane left at the moment.

Wivenhoe Dam is 160%. It can hold 200% but anything over that, we could be in some trouble in this city

The banks of the brisbane river has broken already hasn't it?! Fort Valley is going under today they said on the tv.

Gateway motorway has been reduced to 60kms from 100kms an hour. Might be closed at nudgee this afternoon. if that closes wow as its Brisbanes main motorway north and south. Thank god i only live around the corner from the office.

Not sure whats happening with the clem 7 tunnel

It will eventually flow into the Murray-Darling basin, but hopefully it won't coincide with heavy rainfall in regional SA.

yes it will flow into murray darling basin. theres plenty of it so be ready.

Public transport in the CBD is going to be suspended within the hour. Everyone that has cars parked in under ground car parks in the city has been advise if they can be contacted to return to their cars and remove them

My cousin has been evacuated and her employer is flying her to Melbourne for work.

Stay safe mate, don't take any chances. Word I am hearing from qld health is that its a lot worse than is being reported. Up to 80 dead in toowoomba

Let's hope that is not true

Apparantly the airport is still operating normally (probably the only thing that is in Brisbane atm)

i just went to the woolworths in springwood here. Major line ups for all isles. Everyone buying milk and bread. Its bad up here but no need to panic buy in a major city at this point
