That used to happen every time I went to Hawker in the 70s. good call, if Adelaide was in the US it would be the 10th most populated city in the USA!
Detriot, San Fransisco, Inidanapolis have less than Adelaide.
In fact Washington, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Portland, Washington, Seattle, Cleveland, Miami have less than half of Adelaides population
that gives a bit of perspective regarding the "big country town"
