You don't have to pay it! Just produce your green disposal notice which will show the date of change of ownership.

we have to because we signed it the night of the fine. the previous owner didnt bring a second car when we bought it from them, and being the nice person my wife is offered to drive them home. only problem was she is no good with directions so the guy drove, and in turn got a speeding fine.
we do not have enough evidence to prove that she wasnt the driver.

Isn't there provision to sign a stat. dec. in the back of the notice stating who the driver was at the time, and have the fine redirected to them?
I think you have to be able to give their name and address but you should have a record of that.

I think you have to be able to give their name and address but you should have a record of that.

that was the first thing we did. but the guy sent it back saying that he wasnt driving. we would ask for a picture, but if we cant prove that it was him then it looks like my wife is driving with out her p-plates on. still going to fight as much as possible because it is about $190!

Bob Such probably has some advice, he's managed to avoid paying his speeding fine for about six months now. He reckons he's taken the whole thing to court on behalf of all the people who get fined for speeding unjustly and can't afford to hire an expensive lawyer to dispute it (because they're not politicians with massive salaries, I guess).

I have no idea what it sounded like but I suspect it was a bit like that kid from Malcolm in the Middle, the one who's always gasping for breath. At least it was a pre-recording, not live, so they might be able to edit it a bit!

I was doing a book review for Radio Adelaide. I just recorded it today but it won't air for another few weeks - not sure when exactly yet. I wish the recording person would have played it back because I reckon it sounded really crap though.
