This has happened to me before. Write to the company that made the jigsaw, they should be able to send you the missing pieces.

The worst thing that's ever happened to me with a jigsaw puzzle - the bloody cat mistaking it for her litter tray. 5000 piece puzzle, halfway completed (i.e. DAYS of working on it), and she took a sh1t in it and covered it up so heaps of the pieces stuck to it. I have a new 5000 piece puzzle on the floor at the moment so I have to keep the door to my office shut.

Forgetting for the first time in my life to read the directions on a bottle before taking the contents. I've just had a double dose of iron tablets and while the Poisons Info Centre assured me I won't die, I'm in for a rough few hours. :(

Maybe next time buy a jigsaw puzzle of a bigass scary MoFo Doberman or something, just to keep the cat away :D

Haha it wouldn't work - she loves dogs! She always tries to play with them and climb up them. Most of them are yappy little dogs from the nearby retirement village so they get a bit freaked out. Toy aeroplanes are what scares her the most.

It was a cheapass jigsaw from K-mart, I checked the box and it didn't have any of the company's details on it, I just put it down to a lesson in life. Luckily a friend at work has given me one of excellent quality in a little suitcase that is still in its plastic, my little girl will be so pleased when I get home.

All this jigsaw puzzle talk makes me want to get one out the cupboard and start it !
It's been in the cupboard for 5+ years - still in it's plastic and all O:)
I used to love jigsaw puzzles doing them all the time and then life got to hectic!

they are good little time wasters. i bought wifey one for Christmas and she's still going on it, just plods away every now and then. i bought a 'puzzle mat' for it which is great, it is felt and rolls up and keeps all the pieces together. saves heaps of space on our dining table! this one is big enough to fit a 2000 piecer on it, only about $20-$25 IIRC, good little investment.

So those puzzle mats do work? Woohoo! I've got one but I've been a bit afraid to use it, I couldn't believe it would actually keep all the pieces together. I need to put my current jigsaw on it so I can get it off the floor and put it on the table - can't get comfortable sitting on the floor at the moment. :(

I just got one of our designers at work to make me up a board with a border the size of the puzzle so it doesn't slide around while it's being worked on.

I was wondering about you sitting on the floor in your 'condition' Fisho :D

I always thought those puzzle mats would 'crease' the puzzle O:)

Clever idea LM O:)

Tried putting a pile of pillows on the floor - can't reach the puzzle box though! It will have to go on the table. :)

Sat down with my cereal & yoghurt, opened up the Advertiser and guess what?........She's back again, good ol' Ms Chantelois gracing page 1 & page 6 of the Advertiser. The milk turned sour and the Rice Bubbles went snap, crackle but no 'pop'
