Haha I didn't mean the people working, just that upgrades were happening rather than nothing

Someone should pose this as a legitimate question to the SAPOL contact us page and post the response. ;)

@Spargo - the official word:

Hello Lisa,

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the South Australian Police horses.

Whilst on patrol the horses do occasionally manure. We make every effort to have the manure removed by a member of staff when this occurs however, if no one is available to pick up the manure, the council removes it during its regular cleaning operations.

Unlike dog and cat manure which is extremely unhygienic, poses health risks and does not easily decompose, horse manure easily and quickly breaks down, hence its regular use in the garden. We do use the horses manure on the Thebarton police barracks gardens to help keep the plants and flowers looking their best, and when the manure pit at Thebarton Barracks becomes full, we also use the manure to fertilise the horses paddocks at our Bolivar facility.

Thankyou again for your enquiry and I do hope my response has answered your questions.

Kind regards,

South Australian Police Mounted Operations Unit.

so Im guessing that an Officer is a member of staff who should be getting off the horse to remove the manure, but realistically it is just left for the council to do.

How long did it take to get this response? I guess its not part of any FAQs page. :lol:

maybe they saw your negative remarks about government workers a couple of weeks back and thought they'd take their time...

Good work SAPOL...

I wasn't in any hurry, who was getting on their backs?

You're taking this a tad too personally.

However, a government worker would've emailed me back about 3 times wanting to know where their response was in this time ;)

Im not sooking, I just think answering these questions is a waste of time. Maybe email the tens of thousands of dog owners that leave their animals shit laying on the footpaths of Adelaide.

I know its an epidemic. I can't walk 10m without trodding in horse shit from a SAPOL horse.
