Tomic's run at Wimbledon was awesome.
Also the Matildas losing 1-0 to Brazil who are arguably the best in the world. Australia had 7 debutants including a 16 and a 17 year old.

I only have a passing interest in Tennis and haven't really got into it since the days of Rafter, Agassi, Sampras and co.

Tomic makes me want to watch it again, last night was the first time I've really been engrossed in a tennis match for a long time.

Not so sure about this....

Aussie Cricket team is stuffed, we are fair way back in Union and even in league we aren't world champs anymore. We aren't going all that well in the Champions trophy in Hockey and our last Olympics we got 'beaten' by the flamin Poms.

As for Tennis we are well down on what we were a decade ago. Yep, Tomic has huge potential but besides him the cupboard is bare as Lleyton is on his last legs. We aren't even in the World Group in the Davis Cup.

It reminds me of the mid eighties.
