- When having a mullet wasn't considered unfashionable (and yes, briefly, I did. The photos are mind numbingly bad, but at the time, I thought it looked okay).

- Bullen's Lion Safari, out near Two Wells (we always wanted to go as kids so badly, but Dad refused to take the then brand new Datsun 200B out there..."I'm not having the paintwork scratched by a stupid great cat dancing on it")

- When the Royal Show had many of the SANFL clubs taking their merchandise vans there. One of the first stops for me was getting the player badges in time for the finals.

- When the Royal Show used to have some car companies, in the Motor Pavillion, selling miniature versions of that year's new cars. Somewhere, I have scale models of Datsun Skyline's and Sunny's.

- Henley Square having carol singers on the roof of the building the night they opened the annual Christmas display - the singers usually being staff from the Henley Library

- Collecting the new Premiership Table and Match List from ANZ Bank before the start of the SANFL season, where you would place the teams into order each week.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

I used to frequent Tolley Rd St Agnes drive in as well as the one that was acroos from St.Pauls College on Blacks rd Gilles Plains. I remeber having to go from one to the other for the release of Ghostbusters in 1985 as the line went down to Grand Junction rd. Ghostbusters was the second movie on in the double that night, the first one also featured Bill Murray in Stripes which i remember thinking was actually better even as a 10 year old

To this day i still try and get to the drive in at mainline a few times a year. Nothing quite like it on a warm night when your well equipped. :D

Played your mob in a semi final at Cowandilla in the 90s
I won the toss and elected to bat
I came in at 3/0
Then we were 5/15
Our number 7 came in, a decent bat
He missed the first 3 balls in a row
At the end of the over he came up to me for a mid pitch conversation, he said
"" I cant see the ball."
I asked why ?
"" I didnt expect to be batting so soon and I had a cone.""

Yep, me too.
Also, the pages of stickers about as big as your little finger nail, with enough for each round of the season, used to end up with heaps of them as the old man worked for the bank. Was too young to know was what they were for, so drove the olds mad by sticking them everywhere.

I'm pissing myself here - this is so "Australian" (opposite to un-Australian). I can contribute a small anecdote perhaps not in this class but still a goodie.
In 1995 I'm in a car with an sgl coach and three players. We are on way to Port Augusta to play a game. As we get near the Port Germein turnoff one of th eplayers said "turn in here I need to pick something up". It was an ounce of prime buddage and the dealer guy said "here try it it is good stuff". He was right and we were pretty well smashed by the time the game started. Trouble is everyone got the munchies because we shared it around pre-game outside the rooms. The umpires never tweaked until a few blokes asked the trainers for cherry ripes and coke before quarter time. I can't remember who won the game
Caution! You are now entering the no-spin zone...
