And the other night was the first one I've had since I can remember,
So it does work to a pretty good degree.
Anyone who's interested https://www.donotcall.gov.au/
And I haven't had any charities call either.
But yes, door knockers, that's a whole other story![]()
Maybe we need a do not knock register too![]()
I just had a thought !!
I've moved house, new phone number, maybe I need to re-register??

tipper wrote:similar thing, yesterday we had a doorknocker. (edited for length)
them "are you interested in lowering your electricity bill"
me "yes"
them "well blah de blah"
me "well do you have a brochure so i can read it and discuss it with the missus when she gets home?"
them "no"
me "is there a website i can view the info later"
them "no, but we have a 10 day cooling off period so if we sign you up now you can talk about it and decide later"
me "goodbye (slams door)"
how can they ecpect people to do anything on the spot with nothing in writing and no way to verify their claims?? and she seemed very put out when i told her i wanted to think about it and decide later, also tried to make an appointment for when the missus was home so she could talk to us both! bloody doorknokers!

Ahh, that is a good way of looking at it JAS.
Whenever they ask for Mr Choccies or Mrs Choccies I just say, hang on I'll go get them.... I'll put the phone on the bench and walk away..... then when I come back in the house 20 minutes later I laugh and wonder if they are still 'on hold' waiting for me !!
Other option is to inundate them with probing questions.... they hate it !!

it ges up my nose when i fight with the missus in the morning, then in the afternoon when she comes home from work she's even more upset about it... even if it was pathetic!!!
then if you do something like housework (which gets done anyway) she tells (yes tells as if she knows what i'm thinkin) you that 'the only reason i'm doin it is because she's upset'
you just can't win!

I usually accidentally bump into them and apologise, smiling sweetly.Barto wrote:Idiots who stand in doorways chatting away.
Bonus points when they get pissed off that other people want to push past them
