A similar thing happened to my father-in-law in the 1999 emirate stakes. He recieved approx 32K but was paying nearly double interstate. Better than a kick in the nuts though.

OK, I feel better now, thanks mate :D

Sux though, but I guess it's swings and roundabouts, although if it was a discrepancy of the magnitude your father in law experienced I'd never recover I dont think lol

Don't you love the remission amount ... basically we should be thankful that the govt doesn't rip us off more.

I love the envelope the bill comes in. Big Revenue SA logo on it. I mean when you see the words "Revenue" and "SA" next to each other you know theres no good news inside this envelope

I got a bill for several properties around South Australia including one, worth $2 million, on The Parade.
I rang and said I'd be delighted to pay it once I had the titles to all the properties in my hands, but as far as I knew I only owned one of them.
They invited me to pay for the one I admitted owning but I said I'd deal with it when I got a correct bill, or the titles to the other properties...

I'm hoping they can't sort out their error, and will send me the titles to all - then I'll happily pay the $2500.00 bill! 8)

A little known fact is that a significant amount of this - ie $10m+ I think - is used to fund the Star Force's toys. You know, big black Landrovers etc.

As a checkout operator something that drives me crazy is, the people who pack their green bags inside their only freezer bag, then proceed to put their cold stuff up on the belt first, meaning there are now hundreds of loose green bags floating around because the one that was holding them together is the first used! Aghh!
