Nipping out to the shop late yesterday and finding out an old friend has been killed...

A workman has died following an industrial accident in a cafe in a Moray town.

It is believed the 48-year-old man - named locally as Neil Grant - was an electrician carrying out work at Cafe Ecosse in Elgin's High Street.

RIP Neil :(

Also, drove up old Norton Summit road for the first time in a while the other day (used to frequent it all the time). Can't believe they have dropped the speed limit back to 60 for the entire road. Absolutely needless

Cardiologist once kept me waiting close to 3 hours .
I have a doctors surgery at the end of my street. BUT it takes a week or two weeks to get an appointment.Five minutes away by car is a doctor you don't need an appointment. You may have to wait from 5 minutes to an hour or so BUT that beats a week or two.
I got some information by email today that suggests this isn't going to get better.
Not only are older doctors looking at retiring earlier as the interaction with Medicare and the bureaucracy gets more complex, but the younger graduates have misgivings.
This survey was done in WA among young doctors who had at least elected to do a GP training rotation as part of their first few post-graduate years.
And many of them only want to work in other doctor's clinics part-time - i.e. 5 to 8 sessions a week [1 "session" is a half-day] - to avoid the growing administration burden.

And I think it was done before the Rudd government decided it wants to use the introduction of a national, instead of a state by state, medical registraton scheme as a vehicle to also give the Minister the power to determine the recognition of qualifications, and review post-graduate further education, instead of the medical colleges.
[Mind you it would make approving the Dr Patels for short staffed public hospitals quicker and easier for governments. ]

lovely. My misses is pregnant, we have regular appointments to check up on things. i have taken time off work to go to them all but one. we have to make an "appointment" with the local hospital for the visits. fine, at least i know when it will be, or so i thought.

we get there a half hour before our appointment time,(i hate to be the one that holds them up) dont get in to see someone till an hour after our appointment time, and it is only a ten minute appointment! "your all good, nothing dramatic going on, see you in a week!" why bother telling us to make an appointment if it is nothing to do with the actual time we are seen? and the hospital we go to doesnt actually do births anymore so they cant say the doctor was held up with a delivery, which by the way i would understand!

Watching the news and seeing scum of the earth juvenile pricks at court appearances all dressed up in suits to give the judge and jury the impression that they are little angels. makes me want to vomit.

Windchimes...someone around here has hung some metal ones in their garden (can't work out which one) and yes they sound quite calming, restful and all 'fairies at the bottom of the garden' etc etc etc in a very soft breeze. BUT this place doesn't do 'soft breeze' we have howling gale blowing in off the Firth so it's more like a 24/7 panel beaters workshop run by psychotic elves everytime you open the window

 hopefully you now have an accurate mental picture ;)

If not, imagine instead giving a 5yo all the sugar it can eat and then windchimes in each hand and letting them shake them...a lot...that's about as Zen like and meditative as it's going to get.
