The girls certainly get you conservatives up and about, don't they?

What do you mean "girls"?
Fielding complains about one sided media but 100% does it herself

Interesting - made me think about that

Would there be any jurisdictional problem between Federal troops and Federal Territory Police like there would be with Federal troops with State Police?

ADF were used during the pandemic to guard quarantine hotels and hospitals but not sure if they actually had any power to detain people or whether they were there purely for optics

Yep, something has to be done urgently.
We have had several staff up there assaulted in the last few months so much so that some businesses are beginning to take matters into their own hands with staff carrying weapons for defence. Last thing we need is ending up like the US where people start packing guns for protection

Albo is going there now which is a good thing.
I was watching the local council & social workers etc on the ABC this afternoon
It's a stockpile of dynamite waiting for a lit match

My mate up there is an ex-headmaster and prison teacher and has seen most of the bad ****
He reckons it's the worst its been in his 40 years there.

The army do not have any law enforcement powers outside of policing it's own personnel.

In a nutshell, our constitution bars the ADF from being used against it's own citizens.

The ADF like many other bodies can be called to render assistance by a law enforcement body but that does not give them "powers to exercise".

Gunga sales through the roof Mon and Tues in Alice coming up - look for the new proper flash cars in Alice in the next three months

Wed-Sun walk quickly to your car (if its still there) with your single transaction going to be plenty of thefts of purchased liquor.

Band aid applied when surgery required to fix the underlying social issues in remote Australia.

Seems the booze ban is the only "solution" at the moment? Pretty piss weak.

It was 10 years ago, but one thing I remember is seeing a heap of taxi's going thru the drive thru bottlo, they used to have restrictions that to use the drive thru you had to be in a car - so the locals worked out a solution pretty quickly.

A pretty solid argument, I'd sooner talk to someone stoned over someone paro or on meth, growing up in the northern suburbs it was always pretty rife, unfortunately though, it seems to be those that shouldn't smoke it seem to never kick the habit.

This isn't right. See s 35 of the Defence Act (Cth) and s 119 of the Constitution.

A State Government or Territory can apply to the commonwealth to use the defence forces protect the state against domestic violence including internal inrest within a state or territory.

After being employed at the same place for 24 of the past 27 years it looks as though I will be saying goodbye.

I have to make a decision Monday, a very difficult one that has kept me awake all night several times over the past few weeks.
