Sorry if this lowers my intelligence.

1 in 25 years, as a 16 yo (3 months after getting my licence) I rolled the oldies car , probably lucky for me it was only a few months after the old man rolled his company car. :?

Having lived in Melbourne for 3 years-where it can take an hour to travel 5 km's, Adelaide is a breeze. Didn't any of you see the pile up on the Monash the other day where traffic was banked up for 10kms. Sydney has similar incidents on a regular basis too.Give me our "country" roads any day.

Having said that, Main North Road is downright scary and a place I avoid at all costs. I can get from our place at Golden Grove to Port Adelaide in under 30 minutes now. The same distance across suburban Melbourne would take about 90! It makes me laugh when Adelaidians complain about "traffic congestion". Idiot drivers is a different issue though-and we have more capita here than any other city in Australia.

Certainly won't argue with you're last sentence.
I just don't want to compare it to problems in other cities in the sense that Melbourne and Sydney are far bigger and I believe our politicians and other decision makers will be happy for people to keep bringing up the fact that time delays are worse elsewhere so that they can justify doing nothing to help clean up certain traffic problems in Adelaide.
For Example, I think a fantastic job has been done in Perth (which is now one and half times bigger population wise) where I believe it is now easier to get around than Adelaide due to their Freeway that runs from North to South all the way through suburbia and their other bigger arterial roads.
