I reckon your thinking about the Sydney Olympics,not the special olympics, where that guy from some dot on the map in africa was competing in the 100m or something heats, and he struggled to finish but the crowd cheered him on... apparantly he'd never even seen a swimming pool before, practiced in rivers or something...
