When I buuilt my house approx 10 years ago, we were told that council approval would take at least 6 weeks to come through..

Should have seen the look on everyones faces when it was back at the builders/land seller or whoever else sees it within 48 hours

Just remember.... Its not what u know, BUT who u know!

48 hours is pointless anyway, firstly you need to get house plans drawn up, sign off on them (unless you make changes), get soil report done to determine rip-off footing cost, do selections, get final house cost together with land contract in to bank so they can do a valuation, get formal approval and THEN (this is how Playford Council now work, as well as Onky Council) get house plans in to council for approval! This is the wrong way around BUT they won't even look at your plans until you have formal approval & the plan of the division is deposited in the LTO. crazy.

Council approval is the last major hurdle before work on site begins.

Selections, Engineering etc are done before we get to council or during the period it is there.

The LTO stuff should begin once signed up or before.

Slightly off topic but my current lender wants to slug me $1200 to get rid of my current loan to fund this project.

What's the chances of getting this sucker waived?

and how often does "waive it or I'll go elsewhere" work? ;)

I'm pretty much doubling my loan if this helps answer the question..

I think so but apparently I signed my last loan before this came in...

or are they trying to dodge me out of $1200 when I don't really have to pay anything at all?

Don't think that matters. Remember Juliar and Swandog saying that is was to get a fairer deal for Working Australians

Getting development approval for the construction of our house. Just need to get final approval, have the final builders interview and we could have the slab down by February

Good move FC.

Is there any possibility of keeping your spacious unit for rental.

I Promise you will regret the sale in the future.

"If only I had kept that stupid unit."

Never get rid of an assett. ;)

Inflation will make you rich. :D

I am sure your boyfriend/partner will treat you to anything you desire.

The sooner you get a renter in, the better.

Discuss it with your dad.
Smile :)
