The couple I asked had no idea who they were either.Dogwatcher wrote:Psyber, can you ask them whether they like Woody or Buzz, please.Psyber wrote:.... and today I'm meeting some bikie friends at a "get well" get together for one of them, who has advanced Oesophageal cancer and is not likely to "get well".

Apparently they are much more interested in a rock group called "The Giants" and insisted I join them at the Old Mill last night for dinner and the show.
I tried to pay for my ticket twice but they wouldn't let me.
One of them also insisted on introducing me to his recently widowed cousin, who is a pleasant lady who owns an Adelaide pub.

Perhaps if you'd been there they wouldn't have let you pay either.fisho mcspaz wrote: The Giants! Lucky you. I'd have gone to see them, except that dinner at the Old Mill probably costs more than what Centrelink pays me in a week.

PS: It was a $45.00 buffet and buy your own drinks. The food was good - cooked well - and Cascade $4.50 a schooner.

I've known the group since the early 1980s, and they've always said, "You're a mate of ours. So, if anyone gives you hassles just call!"
So, watch how cheeky you get!
