Pets & their worth to you ?

Still think the "lady" should be held accountabe for the death of the cat on the end though... some people just don't know how to mind their own business

Where was the cat when she saw it though? If it's on public property then it's her business.

RIP DESI :( :(

Sincere Condolences Bayman :(
We had our 'Ralph' put down yesterday, Maltese Shitzu who would have been 16 in a couple of months and i dont think i have cried so much in all my life
Pets mean the world to lots of people.

We have cats also, and we got a cat enclosure net attached to the house so they can run around 'outside' and have their fun but also remain safe at the same time. Our main concern was them getting into fights and contracting Feline AIDS.

Sometimes people have to be cruel to be kind and I'm just telling you as it is if you like it or not, there's no need to go off on another tangent and leave a football site or start ranting about a dictatorship and being abusive just because you started a topic and someone gave a frank and honest opinion in response to help you understand where you went wrong.
If for eg I started a topic about grammer and some people told me where I'd gone wrong I'd take all thoughts on board, mind you there would be some bloody long replies!

It's not illegal for your cat to be outside or wander off your property, but it is irresponsible, selfish and inconsiderate to allow it. If bayman's cat, and the cat it was scruffing with had been controlled, then the cat would still be here.

The woman who complained is well within her rights to report it. It must have been a bad enough injury to be reported and then taken away and put down.

The sooner cats are controlled the same as dogs the better. Better for the cat, the wildlife it kills and the neighbors of cat owners. Too many people buy a cat, dump it outside, and feed it once a day, and are oblivious to what it does the rest of the 23 hours and 55 minutes.

My two dont really wander outside the confines of the house boundaries nowdays which is good, however unfortunately we have neighbours who are irresponsible and allow their 5 cats out at all hours and they wander into MY yard, which once resulted in my cat having surgery to a nasty fight.

Yes, i agree with cats being registered and not being allowed out at night.

It probably would have avoided the predicament that Bayman is in at the moment too..

Mind you, if your cat was wearing a collar with your contact number or if it was microchipped, the RSPCA couldnt have put your cat down without first contacting you anyway. So thats why I reckon something is fishy...

My two Beagles spend the bulk of their nights howling at two feral cats that live in our area. I've hit them with water from the hose, a spray bottle with water and citronella mix. I hate them.

I hate cats and I'm not too fond of the mother-in-law either. Who buys a kid a cat for their birthday without asking the parent?

Pets & their worth to you ?

Postby The Sleeping Giant » Fri Sep 23, 2011 11:45 am

I once lived next door to an old lady who had a massive Tom cat, that was always covered in scars, had half a nose. One afternoon the RSPCA knocked on my door and asked if I knew why the cat next door was covered in blood. They wanted to know if my dog had attacked it. Was very confused how it was my problem if the cat DID enter the dogs backyard.

We have 2 Border Collies - one is 19 months old and the other is 13 weeks old.

They mean everything to us and are great dogs, well trained (the older one particularly) and they seem to live a pretty good life with lots of love.

desexed, i can't say no but i can say he never went very far

no leash as the park (school oval) is directly opposite the house, he would just walk over with us & usually would lay in front of the stumps until we moved him away in the cricket nets

i would presume so & i would presume i was snoring at the time

Well if that's the case the pet solely died because you are an irresponsible pet owner. If Little Bayman wants to throw a brick through anyone's window it should be yours.
Cats if allowed outside without supervision are a pest and owners of cats are allowed to do that should be prosecuted and have the pet removed immediately IMHO.
The woman at no way is in any fault, you are 100% responsible for the demise of this poor creature. Please don't get another one.

Wow...I thought it was wrong to troll on here, especially by a moderator.
Seriously though that is one of the most insensitive posts I have ever read on any forum I have been on. You ought to be ashamed of yourself...
If that is your opinion, keep it to yourself rather than trying to make bayman feel worse than he does now.
