Kelvin's actions were definately frowned upon. However, Marie felt sorry for him and didn't wish to take it any further and get the police involved, although she had everybody's full support if she did. Sexual assault is certainly no joking matter, it was taken very seriously at the time. However, over time all of us (including Marie) have seen the funny side of the situation and often had a bit of a laugh about it. There were certainly no jokes going around at the time.

The saddest fact about that situation was the aftermath. The girl, Esther, could hardly speak English. She spoke Spanish so we had to set up a 'conference call' sort of situation with a Spanish foods supplier to communicate/translate. That is how we found out she was actually Ukrainian and was on a fake passport (which is also why we did not get the police involved). The problem was the boyfriend took off with her passport so she was stuck with no id or money as her pay had all gone into his account. We wanted to keep her employed but we would have been breaking the law in doing so which could've resulted in a 10,000 pound fine. We told her she could stay as long as she liked while we tried to see if we could get her a visa so she could stay and work. The owners also offered her a free flight back to the Ukraine if she wanted it. After a couple of days she disappeared leaving a note (in Spanish) explaining that her boyfriend had contacted her and she had no choice but to return to him. We were all devastated. I can sort of understand her decision as there wasn't a lot we could legally do. I still think we could've given her work, we were out in the sticks. The chance that we would be raided by immigration was virtually impossible.

Have been sicker than ever this week, and had a very rare "sickie" on Wednesday...

Normally I leave the house before Little Miss Sunshine gets up, so when I ambled downstairs (to empty my stomach) she stands at the entrance to my bathroom, hands on hips, demanding to know why I am not at work because with her child in childcare it was "her time."

Gets worse, since now I have developed further issues, and can hardly move (I'm at work, but going at a snails pace because it hurts), and when I post a smart alec comment on my facebook about having swine flu (one of my workmates suggested it), the inconsiderate so-and-so jumped straight on and bled about how it affected her and her child... I mean... If I actually DID have swine flu, I would not be thinking too much of her, would I?

Got a text from her berating me again about being sick, and I am too polite to point out that this would be the first illness I have had since she moved in that was not caused by her kid...
