So here's my 2c worth...lol.

I love Australian Idol, and have watched every show since its inception,
Hey, my dog is even named after one of the contestants

I do like Kyle, but yes he does say/do some stupid things from time to time.

However,
I am a bit miffed that he seems to be the one who has taken all the blame over this issue,
I can understand why Aus Idol have to 'dump' him re sponsorship etc, etc,
But surely people should be moreso pointing the finger at the actual radio station,
It would not be the announcers that decide what segements etc are going to be held,
They are just the front line - so to speak.

I still think the mother is greatly accountable for the poor treatment of her daughter

It depends on how much lee-way he had earned over the years and whether it was his call or his producer's to 1 - go ahead with that story and 2 - how far to push it once it started.

Austereo needs a fall guy and need to show a strong response to deflect the public outcry from their station and isolate it on to Kyle. So I agree he's potentially become a scape-goat for others.

My gut feeling is that all roads would lead to Kyle when it comes to Kyle's radio show and that maybe now Austereo have realised they let out too much line on the rod.

I am sure Kyle's show will be back and a part of him will be loving the publicity which will open up a whole lot of other doors for him. He has fingers in a lot of pies these days so I don't think he'd feel the need for anyone to feel too sorry for him.

Hondo, I don't really feel sorry for Kyle as such,
He's also responsible for what he actually did say,
But I just find it amusing that Kyle has become the 'scape-goat' as you say when that's not really where the blame should probably lye.

Kyle at centre of donation scandal

2Day FM and Kyle Sandilands are at the centre of another scandal, following claims they broke a promise to raise $150,000 in donations for a disabled boy's family.
The boy's mother, Wendy Koman, told Channel Nine she went on air to try to raise money for the four-year-old.
Her son is paralysed, and Ms Koman and her husband have given up their jobs to provide full time care for him.
On air, Kyle Sandilands allegedly promised to pay $35,000 of his own money to their fund, and several listeners bumped the total up to $150,000.
However, Ms Koman claims that when she arrived at the station to collect their money, they were just given a list of names and numbers to contact.
She and her husband have been forced to chase up the donations, making Ms Koman feel "like a debt collector".
It's understood Kyle Sandilands donated $20,000, a short fall in the amount promised.
