How many people with more than one given name have the same name in there twice or more? :) You would have had three Daniels.

Or maybe it could have been Dan Daniel Danny.

THere was also Damien and Damian.

Also lucky that Schelly was away with Freo at the time, could have been 4 Daniels!

Damo Damien Dan Daniel Danny Danielsan. ;)

Also think of kids names together...

Had a mate who's first was a boy called Sam, then had a girl called Ella.

Sam and Ella....No 5hit !!

That's Gold Ron!
I'll try and get that one past.

But, ummmmm what happens if he's naughty? "Oi, stop being naughty Nixon!"

Or what about if he meets a Nicole? "Nixon, I'm going to have to have a chat about the birds and the bees before you start getting naughty with Nicole...."

I don't think I could keep a straight face!

Be careful about using names like Michael (no offence to any out there). I know they sound like jokes but I genuinely knew these people or I'd have thought they were jokes too.

I knew a Sqn Ldr whose name was Michael Hunt and he took a huge amount of school boy style pleasure in answering the phone "Supply Sqn...Mike Hunt speaking". All of us within earshot would be in fits of giggles trying to picture the poor sod on the other end of the phone.

I also worked with a civvi guy whose son was an actor...minor roles in tv shows like The Bill etc...his real name was Michael Ockwell. He took a stage name to avoid agents etc saying things like "do you know Mike Ockwell?"

At least these two could see the funny side.

Does Mrs DW even know that you're relying on the masses to name your firstborn?

BIG HINT: I've had plenty of friends that haven't bothered with a name until he/she is born, a name usually pops up as soon as you look at them..

Apparently Brandy was the first thing that popped into my fathers head. Thank god my mother had no part of that...

Believe it or not, that was the name of Sheree's first husband. Now at least if we do get married she changes from having a hubby named Mike Hunt to being a lady with the name S Miles (Smiles)

love this thread
the main thing when picking a name is to make sure its not BOGAN eg: Shapelle and Mercedes Corby, dont name them after cars or your first dog although Falcon Rex is a wicked name for a kid. also make sure you dont have some name that even you forget how to pronounce after a few drinks lol.

My partner (Bree) and I(Andy) joked that we were going to call our daughter Brandy as a combination of the two. I was eventually bullied into accepting (about 2 weeks after she was born) the name Imogen. My resistance was more about not getting a say in the matter than disliking the name.
