I was chip leader at the Blue Gums Monday night.
Only half way through though.

I had Q 10 spades.
Flop was Q diamonds, 2 spades and 4 spades. Top pair with a flush draw.

I bet reasonably hard. I was called.
Next card was the 7 hearts.

I bet, was raised.

It was then I should have folded. I thought I had the best hand but was also chasing. So I called.

River was the 10 hearts. Two pair. All in.
He called.

Sod had pocket 2s.

I SHOULD have been out of the hand earlier :/

Pocket two's always gets up.
I play Wednesday nights (tonight  ) and have done ok.
Reached the final table three times, out of six or so cracks at it.
Been ousted with pocket aces twice. #-o
Dunno if you guys have this but we have a losers table, the first eight to bomb out form another table which grants the winner passage to the final table.
It really sucks.
The worst thing about regular poker at the same venue is the person or people you gradually build up a hate for.
This fat loudmouthed woman always rocks up and i really want to punch her in the face.
I feel better now.

That happens at most venues - the bad beat table(s). If there's at least 60 people I think, they have a few tables. If you win, you go back in at the second break with $4k in chips.

There's loud mouth women EVERYwhere... you should go to the Modbury!

I had the same percentage as you SS...

I played at the Modbury 13 times.. the first 7 times I didn't place. The last 7 I finished : 5th, 14th, 7th, 1st, 2nd and 10th. I wish I didn't play the first 7 weeks, I'd have a killer average!

I alternate weeks of success, dont know why.
Due for a bad one tonight.
I've got a mate who constantly goes all in blind to start with.
He did it three times in a row last week, won every hand, and finished second overall.
It's a brave tactic but so effective.

When the NPL season began, a mate of mine was checking out all the venue's in the first week or so to establish which would be his regulars ... One of the pubs down here in the Western Suburbs he ventured to, produced an interesting tale.

Mate folds his hand and heads off to the toilet and returns only to find the hand hasn't been completed because two competitors are laying into each other, and not just verbally!

Suffice to say, he hasn't been back to that particular venue.

Agreed, there are places like that.
Poker is a pride game, and some people cant swallow it.
It's funny how these things happen.
Had a situation where a mate of mine bumped another player's drink.
He was lucky to escape with a split lip.
He never went back.

I dont like the idea this season of being able to "re-buy" into the tournament if you bust out but have a fully stamped drink card available.

I busted someone last night and he re-bought back in and then procede's onto the final table.

Oh well, I got 6th after starting the FT with 3000 in chips.

2 events, 2 sixth places. Consistancy is the key???

Apparently the pub I've been playing (where a beer = 500 chips) at is affiliated with something called Super Poker League or something - a knockoff of NPL! I don't care, I won tonight. Whoo hoo :)

Nope, my alternating run again followed suit, ousted in 20th position.
Sitting next to your best mate doesnt help.
His idea of "livening things up" with an all in blind against eachother didnt pay off, for me.
Prick.

LOL I almost did that, but realised there were 16 left. Only had 3k remaining and held on to 10th. So I'm happy.

I'm on Full Tilt. Used to be on PartyPoker but I hate it now, they shafted me out of money.
