Logged onto the insurance company website to make a claim. It recommended a couple of crash repairers to take the car to for assessment. One was at Port Adelaide (read: not local) and the other company appeared not to exist when I googled it. So I diddled with the parameters of the search and it recommended another one to me, much closer to home.
Went there yesterday morning, had the car assessed, "it looks worse than what it is" was the comment. Needs a new bonnet and a few panels replaced, and some paintwork. They immediately booked the car in for me...
... in bloody OCTOBER.![]()
After I'd picked my jaw up off the counter, the bloke explained to me that that was the size of the backlog, and that he'd been turning away tow-in jobs all morning 'coz the cars would need to be left for months before they could look at them.
Still - OCTOBER?!?
I see a gruff phone call to the insurance company in my future, in which I plead to be sent to another crash repairer for assessment. Though I fear that upsetting their apple cart might make things worse.
Rant over. I don't feel any better.
Hey @Jimmy_041, can Sudes borrow one of your Bentley's for a few weeks?
