that is awesome mate, I spent 9 months working in Western Sahara mainly out of Laayoune in 91/92 as part of an Australian Army Contingent working for the UN, quite an amazing adventure for me who was so young (26) who had never really been out of the country

9 months in Layounne! Crikey, I was bored after one day there Seriously though, there is some spectacular scenery there if you can get to it with your own vehicle and Dakhla is a windsurfers paradise.

Nice one ‘brod’. That shot sure brings back some memories. Did you stay at the Ironclad Hotel?
I’ve still got the key to room 3. Fort Battle-Axe and I stayed there during our ‘honeymoon’, or
as I usually refer to it ….”The trip of tragic terror”.

I felt a strange kinship to the little room air-conditioner up there. Like me, it looked to be beaten up,
over worked, exhausted and suffering.

I didn’t steal the key, I just forgot to hand it in. Only found it when we got to Newman and there
was no way I was going to drive back to Marble Bar. Not with the thought of that bed still fresh
in my mind and my wounds not yet healing.

So now ‘The key to room 3 of the Ironclad Hotel’ is the most precious memento I have.
I wear it close to my heart as a reminder to never, ever, ever, get married again !!!

Didnt stay in Marble Bar..made a day trip from Pt Hedland, but made sure to have a beer in the Ironclad

Nobody probably wants to see this, because it's old news, but this was taken 20 minutes after the 2009 GF. I had just spent the most harrowing 3 hours of my life watching the game and by the time the pic was taken, it was just a massive relief we had got over the line.

Haha, that isn't me, that's actually a mate of mine who plays at Salisbury and happens to post on this site. I wish I could claim that, but he's fatter than me.
