When I used to work at the bottle-o at the Waterloo in Paralowie, Hammer n Tongs and VB Middies sold more than any other beer by a fair stretch. I couldn't fathom it myself.

Still JS Golden Ale for me if I'm only having a few, Hahn Super Dry for a big session.

Surely that was only due to price...SURELY! I had a BBQ where someone bought Hammer N Tongs and i legitimately struggled to give it away in the weeks following.

I recall a youg lad getting the arse from there because he got caught with a bit of a scam, a lot of people used to by a dozen stubbies or cans, he wouldn't ring it until a 2nd person did the same and then he'd ring up a slab and keep the difference.
A dozen was about $25, a slab was a bit over $30, apparently heaps of people only used to buy a dozen.

It wasn't me, by the way. ;)

VB Middies, which I'd never heard of til I started there, was the drink of choice for all of the Asian customers that came through. They would open their wallet (full of $100 notes) and buy 7-8 cartons at a time.

Went overseas and tried a beer on one of the new caledonian islands called "desperados"

Beer and tequila (doesn't sound like a great mix) but an awesome beer IMO.

Have 2 cartons coming to adelaide in a few weeks ready for AFL grand final day, cant wait!!!

I had a few quiet Schofferhoffers last night. A strong rich original taste worth having a dabble at but can be fairly pricey.

James Squire Golden Ale $18 / 6 at The Alberton last week. Very nice drop.

I see Dan's had a special on all over the world beers recently.

Nice summer beer, but for something more apt for this weather then seek out some James Squire Amber Ale. Got a slab of this on the cheap when BWS recently had a "25% off all slabs" sale. Nectar.

I got a 6 pack of Pepperjack Ale the other day. Brilliant, made by the winery of Pepperjack Shiraz fame.

A few wineries are getting into the brewing game I've notices.

Tasman Bitter is right up there with Hammer N Tongs/Hammer N Tongs Gold, VB Raw and Zip (a German cola meets beer) as the worst beers Ive ever tried
