Porterhouse schnitzel champ. For the record all meals were free not that I'm talking them up.

Gave the Plaza hotel across from TTP a crack Sat night and that had the Tower covered for taste, service, time, price and correct meal delivery. They also gave the tin lids some crayons and an activity sheet and recognised their existence. It's also a 2 for 1 in the entertainment book which meant 3 meals cost $44. Definitely would recommend for locals in the area

Beau Thai ( lol ) - Semaphore Road

Popped in to see some friends in their new home at Semaphore, went for a walk to find some dinner on Friday night.

5 of us wandered in, the place was busy and we hadn't booked, luckily got a table.

We went Banquet #3 - $35 per person

Entree :
Money bags
Crispy Prawn
Panadan Chicken

2nd course :
Tom Yum soup

Mains :
Crispy Beef
Prawn Choo Chee
Beau Thai Green veggies
Chili Pork Ribs
Lemongrass Chicken
Rice

The entree was excellent, the money bag nice and big, the crispy prawns just as nice, the pandan chicken in the dipping sauce top notch.

We ordered the Tom Yum "mild" spice level, they came out medium. I'm not a big fan of spice, nor is Mrs and Miss Boon, our friends were ok with it. I struggled through to try and expose myself to something new, we asked if we could replace the two for Mrs and Miss with mild, no problems and a snappy return to the table with two new bowls. Well played.

Fair wait from the soup to the mains, probably 25-30 minutes after we finished the soups they started to bring out the mains.

The crispy beef was awesome, the prawn choo chee a little creamy but not bad, the veggies were crispy but a bit bland, the lemongrass chicken was not very lemon-grassy but the chili pork ribs were just awesome. I could have smashed two plates of them and the beef.

Few beers, couple of softies, total for 5 of us was just over $200 so around $40 per person. Pretty good value as I was more than happy with the food being on the mild side of Thai spice level, a couple of the dishes a little bland, the service ok without being great.

For mine, 6.5/10. Next time I think we'll go an entree and a dish as that would be under $30 per person ( entrees around $6-7 and most mains $17-22 ).

Nicer setting than Rose Garden, food more to my liking but I'm not sure true Thai food lovers would prefer this over the Garden.

Not banned, a questionable past by the looks of it but as of early 2015 MT79 says its good to go.

Ordered a Italian Job pizza and it was very nice. Full of flavour.
Mrs had a Trio of Seafood which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had a nibble of the fish and calamari and it was very light.

Used the ent voucher for 25% off.

Came to $50 with drinks and bruschetta

Id give it a 7.5

Definitely will go back

Good to hear someone enjoying a meal there. We had 3 of 6 orders **** up there about 3 years ago and havent been back. Problems included raw beef stirfry and some entrees coming out after others' mains.

Not surprising - this is why I drink there & never eat there.

Attended a large function there 2 years ago and the chow was top notch.

Have eaten there infrequently over the years and always found it to be good.

Burger Boss on Marion Road.

Amazing!

They stayed open for a group of us after a football meeting. They were supposed to close at 9pm, but we got there about 8.50pm and ordered up a storm.

I think we ended up leaving about 9.45pm.

The burgers were amazing. Two of our guys had the 5 patty challenge burger.

The fries were good. I tried plain fries, and someone elses jalapeno fries. Both delicious.

For a big burger, fries and medium drink, mine was $22.50. 100% worth it.

Agree mate. Been here before (not far from home) and rate it highly.
It's a tad expensive for burger and fries though IMO but it does taste better than the fast food type outlets so take the good with the bad

Anyone been to the Sneaky Pickle on Goodwood Rd before?

I've been a few times but never got around to posting about it.

Mostly American BBQ wood fired type food (think Briskets, pulled pork, ribs etc).

Never been disappointed and always order too much that I can handle!

Most of the really dirty burgers are. 127 Days being the top of the carnivores treat list, couldn't knock one of them down very often. Fatty pig after one of them.

In order :

Nordburger
127 Days
Relish'd Burger Bar
Burganomix

10 yo Master Pseudo rates them as the best burgers he's had.

Me, I find them to be fairly plain and expensive for what they are, but still leagues ahead of the burger chains.

On top of that the place is always doing a roaring trade when I hoon past, so they must be getting something right.
