And again, harping on my previous (and Jase’s) point, if schools are supposedly safe, then junior sport and public playgrounds should be accessible this week also. Smacks of inconsistencies still.

30 kids in a 40 square metre classroom from Mon-Fri = fine.
18-36 kids on a footy oval on a Sunday = not fine.
50-100 kids on a school playground = fine.
1 kid on a public playground = not fine.
Up to 1500 kids in a schoolyard at recess/lunchtimes = fine.
11 kids at a birthday party = not fine.

To add to this, school will be a half-assed experience for kids if they go back next week anyway. Excursions, incursions, assemblies, school sport, extra-curricular activities, special events etc all cancelled for the forseeable future, which is bullshit if kids ‘don’t catch/transmit the virus’. Double standards everywhere.

This makes even less sense!

Education is an essential service, its proven it is low risk and luckily we are in one of the lowest risk regions in the world right now.

I still cant believe there is dissent about this.

Don't confuse dissent with unsurety and caution.

I think Dr Spurrier has been pretty impressive throughout this saga so I’m willing to follow her advice.

Spot on, just have a look at the issues Tassie have had in comparison.

How about we all go about our business and open up pubs and restaurants, and ease numbers for gatherings.
Keep the borders closed and 14 day quarantine for that but we have had bugger all transmissions since the whole saga began that can be classed as local transmission. The hysteria doesnt match the reality

Low transmissions has been because of the restrictions and adherence to good/better hygiene.

My brother who lives in New York and is a medical professional advises that the stance taken by the "Covid can kiss my arse as I'm not staying home for anybody" crowd have found that this was as smart as the supreme leader's stance on disinfectant and light as a cure.

I can't wait for it to be over either but I will also take the advice of Dr Spurier, Professor Murphy etc.

The COVIDsafe app is now live.

I tried to download it. Turns out is isn't compatible with my ancient Galaxy S3.

Oh well, I tried.

Would be very naive to think that just because people haven’t tested positive, then there’s no one in the community with it

Thats what they would like you to believe and that keeps everyone locked up.
It hasnt happened so far, even in the supposed peak of the virus despite shops and Bunnings etc being far busier than they otherwise wouldve been. There has also been lots of people still working in factories and the like.
Ask yourselves why there hasnt been more widespread cases?
