Definitely makes sense why they should be down.

Yes but my point was that the Coronavirus arrived in Australia in the summer so that combined with being an island nation has helped us massively.

No, Australia is not land-locked. It's girt. By sea.

I do hope we continue to do the social distancing whilst lining up at shops like Woolworths, Coles etc even beyond winter. I think even forgetting the hygiene reasons it works well from a customer experience and system point of view. I quite like having a bit of space from a trolley being rammed up my backside.

I did have a giggle to myself at Woolies though as my workplace is a classic for it also...the 'rules for the sake of rules'

I lined up at the express isle keeping my social distancing, I placed my 5 items on the service desk and asked for a bag for the items.

The lady then picked up my items, scanned them and placed them on the desk on the other side, presenting me with the woolworths bag and said 'you need to pack them yourself'

I didn't say anything to her as she doesn't make the rules but i had somewhat of a giggle thinking, wait a sec, you just picked up all my items anyway, How is me placing them in the brand new bag you just picked up going to help you once you've already touched all my items.

I had to get some new socks yesterday and while I was perusing there was an African woman decked out with gloves and a mask.

All good, each to their own but no shit, wherever I went, she would come and stand right next to me and lean across me.

I realize she's only human but geez it was grinding my gears.

The glove logic is another one that hasn't made sense to me. Surely unless to disinfecting the glove nearly every time you touch something then it becomes irrelevant.

I'll use them to put petrol in but then dispose of it.

I wont touch a shopping trolley or basket, I'll buy what I can carry.

Got to keep entertained through lockdown.

One thing this has taught me is i could never handle being unemployed.....stuff that, i would go insane.

Would happily collect trolleys, clean toilets over being unemployed.

We've always had a 'pandemic lockdown' vibe to the State anyway ;)

Huge advantage, combined with our low population density. SA, driest State in the country (probably up there globally too at this point of the year) - COVID-19 ain't surviving on the steering wheels of any cars sitting in the sun.

We have survived West End Draught and Adelaide tap water for all these years so what chance does this virus have [emoji23]
