My attempt to rescue my failed chilli jelly by rebioling it appears to have resulted in my inventing soft chilli apple caramel...and it's surprisingly scrummy. Should be ok with cheese, ham etc but I'm very tempted to try it with something sweet like chocolate cake afterall you can buy chilli flavoured choc bars :-k

I'm excited!

The weather down here today is horrible.

Looking forward to Friday night on the couch, takeaway, trackies, heater, no footy so some serious frothies and the 1st final.

On the negative side it means that the 'tiser's chief football writer, having nothing to wax lyrical about, has been let loose on the SANFL. :(

Getting a full day off, for the first time in ages, to go to the Show from near when gates opened. While it poured harder than any day I've ever been, got to see most of it completely uninterrupted and while it was nice and "fresh" on day one. :)

yay! :D We're off to the Show tomorrow. Angus is very keen to see the alpacas (so am I, for that matter) and go on the dragon ride - which I reckon he rode about six times last year! So glad I'm not pregnant this time around so I can actually go on rides. :supz:

The alpacas are in fine fettle, Fisho :) . Looked very contented with themselves, and with life. It was one of those years that there was not any part of the show left uncovered. Managed to go to all pavillions, see all animals ranging from the cattle to birds to dogs and cats. The sheep pavillion always holds a very special place in the heart, as my grandfather was a steward there for many, many years. No matter when I go there, as soon as I step in those doors and smell that familiar sheep smell, I'm instantly seven years old again, with an armload of showbags, to sit on the wooden floor in his office and play with them :)

Whether it be watching the horses-in-action (one of my favorite parts), going through all pavillions and marvelling at what new advances have been made in technology that I will still never consider buying, walking through the dairy hall, or watching the rides (I don't go on them anymore), the Show is a lovely, lovely part of Adelaide still. :)
