Sorry to hear mate, I know the feeling all too well, I sat there for 55 hours watching my dad's life slip away only for him to pass away 5 minutes after I left the room.

Thanks guys, at least work gave me a couple of weeks off so I can go and sit with him for a couple of hours a day. Hard times especially being an only child and him not having a wife but get to remember lots of good times. He seems comfortable enough but most of us would being fed morpheine only ;)
Having a beer for him now on the way home.

That's the spirit mate. I was a ******* mess for about a month after I lost my dad, I had no one but my kids to confide in.

What I just posted on facebook:
Dad passed away peacefully last night just before 11pm. He was 75. Thank you to The Elders Village for having someone with him at the time. Our house alarm went off at 2.15am despite being turned off waking all the neighbourhood and creating chaos, Wendy and I were running around like headless chooks. I'm sure it was his mischievous way of saying goodbye. Thanks to Wendy, family and friends for their support and love, it means the world. Going to miss the big fella heaps, he was always there for me and we had so much fun together. RIP Dad xxxxx
