Although visiting several times in the past we have got off the beaten track a little at times this trip have seen and some absolutely stunning parts of the country and some wonderful people. Despite having pretty much no restrictions throughout the pandemic the lack of tourists from the mainland has hurt them but things are on the up again

Lovely place, every aspect of it, I loved the west coast as much as the known attractions.
It reminded me of what I think England would be like.

The direct flights to Launceston were probably what sealed the deal for us.Dutchy wrote:Jim05 wrote:Tasmania!

Incredible place, Bruny Island blew me away with their produce, ate Oysters at lunchtime that were in the ocean 300m away that morning, with now direct flights to Launy its going to be very hard to resist another trip back there

Yeah same.
We are planning on going over at some stage in the next 12 month. Was thinking we should go in winter to get the full Tasmania experience. Partner is from Ireland so the cold wont/shouldn't bother her.

This time of the year is almost perfect. Everything is green, still some ice and snow on the very high peaks, the rivers and streams are in full flow with plenty of waterfalls and apart from a day or two of showers the weather has mostly been 17-20 with blue skies. Winter can be a bit dreary down here from previous visits but I would come down for some footy againwhufc wrote:Booney wrote:The direct flights added that part of the world to our to do list very quickly.
