..GWW is extremely grateful that his neighbour was able to help with a pair of pliars to get out the part of the front door key that remained when it snapped whilst trying to open the front door earlier this evening.

Probably saved me over $100 with the likelihood of having to call out a locksmith on a Sunday evening.

...is making whiskey marmalade and loving the smell of simmering oranges and lemons filling the flat...the down side is it's making me feel soooooooo peckish :tonqe:

No - and she's not coping too well today at all.

I think she's got through the last years as well as can be expected, but being the '10' I'd say she's reliving it all - as she's the one who found them - and to top things off her mum is in hospital today having 6 hours of chemo.

Just not fair.

Had never heard of Karoonda until the new guy started at work last year, then I read A Mum, is/was a Karoonda local.... small world this Adelaide place is.

Thiele has a busy weekend this weekend. Tomorrow night going out to my brothers for my Nieces 1st birthday. Saturday out for lunch for a work collague birthday. Then watch Power get thrashed and bye chad game. Sunday my Nieces 1st birthday party at the west adelaide fooy club

Hi Jas,
I make a lot of Jams, Chutneys and preserves but have struggled with marmalade getting it to set.
What do you suggest?

Must admit I find marmalade a bit hit and miss but thankfully I only make it for myself and a mate so we're not too fussed if it's more like jam than jelly lol. Probably doesn't help that I have to use sweet oranges as I can't get the proper Seville oranges up here.

I put 2 or 3 saucers in the fridge before I start and use a sugar thermometer in the pan to get it up to setting point of 105C. When it hits that I start trying the wrinkle test on the saucers about every 5 minutes. Not foolproof though...got a good wrinkle test for a set with this batch but it's still a little bit runny in the jars...still tasty though.

If I ever find a sure fired way I'll let you know
