The whole thing confused me... I didn't find it funny, it just confused me.

So He is not playing ODI cricket, and does not expect to be recalled, he will not be playing limited overs for Tasmania, and therefore is virtually no chance of a recall- Yet he did not retire. So he's called a press conference to confirm he had been dropped???

No change to his Test status. So he called a press conference to say it is business as usual?

Someone explain the point of it to me.

MP, I think it means Ricky thinks he still has a Test career at least, and is trying to push that agenda.
He may last a little longer in that form of the game, where he can take time to get his eye in, despite the reflexes not being what they were.

Thats what I found funny. Everyone expected him to spit the dummy and retire, the cameras are clicking away and as soon as he said "business as usual" there was almost a let down in the room and the cameras all stop clicking.

The point I think he was making was that he hadnt spat the chew and still wants to play test cricket.

If employment agencies are that stupid, perhaps I could get a job with one of them myself...

It depends on if you get a decent case worker. I had to use Job Prospects a couple of years ago. I actually wanted to get work, which according to my lady was rare. She knew I wanted to get back into admin, so would only really look for those jobs, even though I said I would accept anything. I was with her for about 6 months and didnt get one interview.

One day she was sick, so another guy took me for my appointment. Within 20 minutes I was enrolled in a week long course, and 2 weeks later I had a job in retail. It wasnt my first preference, but at least I was working and supporting myself. I went from retail, to storeman/truck driver, to internal sales (admin)...so got there eventually...

Unfortunately for every 1 agent like your second paragraph there's about 20 that fit into your first paragraph or like the ones that keep sending duds like with MP's employer.

I can relate to the dud one. I was unemployed and wanting to work. I kept going to the agency every day but they would not help me find work all they would do is there was nothing for me. I found a job myself and when they wanted me to sign the paper work saying that they helped me find it I refused. I did all the work sending out my CV all they did was sit me down and tell me there was nothing for me.

The one I had to deal with was a classic - the only time any action happened to my file was when I put in an application to change to a different agency. I mysteriously finished their 'job seeker training' (and I use that term very loosely - the agency lost it's 5 star rating as a result of the feedback I gave about it though) a week early and got given their best agent after the first request went through and they mysteriously found a job for me when I put in the change a second time.

The job was a complete dud though, so they were forced into not breaching us had we chosen to quit the job (I decided to persist in the job for a couple more weeks).

Also had a classic stuff-up with an agency that used to have the naming rights to a SANFL ground - I missed out on a job purely because they misread my resume (they thought I was finishing uni when I actually finished the year before). To their credit, they did admit their oversight to me and had found another position for me, but by then I had found another job anyway.

My work trying to force us all to LIKE them on facebook, and share it with our friends.
After telling them where to shove it, I find that one of my new twitter followers is... My work...

No doubt I will be given a "suggestion" tomorrow morning about it, but bugger that.... blocked!
