Ha, no wonder you were being an ignorant prick

You have a doppleganger for sure, I was approaching your double and and said "Hey mate, how ya going?" the big fella just nodded his head at me said "Good thanks" with a blank look on his face.

I rarely greet people when I'm not 100% sure but I was certain

Well I've sold my soul and made my intentions clear to management that I no longer want to do my job, they gave me two months to think about it after dangling a carrot for the future in front of me.

They gave me a succession plan verbally that was going to be discussed/presented in detail at my mid year review/people mapping meeting (Feb), it got touched on briefly but nothing in concrete, it is based on someone's pending retirement which could be anywhere between 3 months and 5 years away.

It's going to be weird, it's going to be a tough transition for the body clock but one I'll appreciate when I settle in to new routine.

You're the total opposite mate, it's funny the random places I bump into forumites, Failed Creation and I seem to land at the same joint from time to time anywhere between Gawler and Prospect.

Would've put two laughing heads in but it said "maximum 6 smilies allowed"

Then I had to bomb one still from a previous part of the convo!

My first round 1 footy game in 15 years!!! :D :D :D Bloody excited.

Played pretty well in the internal trial Friday night. By well I mean I picked up about 9-10 possessions in a 2 x 20 minute half game. By well I also mean well enough to get picked in our B Grade :D

Bloody keen. The game is certainly different than I ever remember it. If I made some of those across kick passes not only would my coach have dragged me off, the old man would have been out there dragging me as well. Being playing on a half forward flank and boy its continuous running, defending in our zone defence and then when we win the ball getting forward.

Biggest challenge is mentally you don't get a rest these days, I remember standing in the forward pocked knowing the ball wasn't coming over my side of the ground for an eternity, these days between having to defend as a team and also our own team switching play your never really out of the game.

Absolutely loving it though and the guys we have are great to get around.

Not overly nervous, more excited but also anxious about letting the team down, I still carry far to much pride in performance for a 37 year old hack.

1. Joining up to my new local RSL. $10 annual membership, discounts on drinks/food. Anzac Day function, with free drinks for members. Social golf and bowls club.

2. Getting down to the local footy club on Saturday to watch them go through the hoops. TAB facility in the club rooms too. Bundoora Bulls take on the Whittlesea Eagles. The bulls coming off a good win last week. Sam Lloyd (ex Richmond and Swans) the marquee off season signing for the Bulls. 4 tram stops from my new home...... hic.
