Sure, there's some rotten things in the world, but a split family I find very sad.

Two bedrooms and all the crap that fills them up? It ain't all bad.

My two are fine, homes are less than a km apart and they wander back and forth at will. Some nights are set but the rest is organised with little notice. Aside from when I'm away for work, that's all notified well in advance although they often still come to spend time with their youngest sister and Mrs smac v2.

A few weeks ago, I was at a bus stop in the city. I saw a blind guy walking towards the bus stop. Unlike most visually-impaired people who I'd seen using a cane, this bloke was "all over the shop", and at one stage walked towards the road - his cane was tapping the gutter near the footpath.

He eventually made it to the bus-stop,but walked into a lady also waiting there. I noticed all he had where his eyes should be, had no pupil, iris etc - it was just the whites of his eyes.

Had to ask each time a bus came what number it was...not sure how well he'd fare if no one else was at the bus stop.

I can't imagine what constant darkness would be -especially perhaps for someone who had vision previously (someone born without vision presumably wouldn't know any different, so would be "easier" to accept.

I had a similar experience a few years ago while at uni, unfortunately my bus arrived before theirs did, I let him know that this was mine and he just pulled out a flip board with numbers and obviously braille to just stand there hoping the bus driver will read it and stop.

Dont worry too much. Theres already a list out of upcoming episodes, and some of them have Brians name in the title. He'll be back.

It was really sad though. I watched it last night.

Finding out late last night that an old school friend had passed away. We didn't catch up alot over the last 20 years but through the wonders of modern technology we chatted often over the last half a dozen years about footy, work and life in general. Just on 3 weeks ago i last chatted with him and he was waiting on some test results........things in life can change so quickly.
Trust the process.

Sorry for your loss mate. Speaking from experience, it's always worse when it's sudden.

When someone is destroying themself in front of you and there's not a damn thing you can do to stop it happening. And you cop it if you try. I've had issues with drinking and depression and all sorts of s*** but I don't know how to deal with someone who's an alcoholic.

Been trying to get brother-in-law to rehab for years. It's difficult when they just don't want to.

VERY. Especially when they function well at work, sport etc. so that not only do they insist that they can't be an alcoholic (all alcos must drink every day and sleep in gutters) but almost no one else can believe it either. I can count on one hand the number of people who've seen this person absolutely s***faced drunk, and I would lay money that over the last 10 years, no one has ever actually seen him take a drink of anything but beer. :? I never have myself, but s***, you can see that someone's a clown without needing to witness them paint the mask on. (REALLY bad analogy but the first one I could think of.)
