Weren't Bazz and Pilko fantastic back in the day? None of this stupid controversial radio, just good fun/humour. They revolutionised radio back then.

I remember the first SAFM broadcast and then when they started doing Simulcasts of Trax, hosted by Andrew Peters, (with the long hair). Of course, Vinny and Grant were brilliant back in the 80's as well on breakfast radio. I remember to this day when they were manually bleeping out Kevin Bloody Wilsons "Hey Santa Claus" on breakfast radio in about 87. I was on my way to a job interview in my LJ Torana and was stuck at Sth Road, Port Rd lights and everyone around me was giggling in their cars as well. Come to think of it, hopefully it wasn't at my LJ.

I actually remember in about 85 or 86 going to some expo thing where they were introducing Stereo AM. It never took off.

Also, Music Express with a very young Greg Clark.

Then I remember the telethons, "217 0101, the Channel Ten Christmas Appeal".

Whatever happened to Danny(?) Davis, Joanna Moore and Robby Roenfeldt from the Channel 9'ers and the Saturday morning show on Ch 9?

Correct 1979 was the last time South's colours were on the chimney. I didn't say on top of the chimney.

Ah yes Double Dare was a few years later. Wasn't there a spin off show from that as well?

Off The Dish, another weird sounding tv show i can vaguely recall :?

Happy to see them there again in 2011 - beneath those of Centrals of course!

I remember most of those. I also watched Sweet and Sour which was more of an adult drama/musical type of show.

Another one i remember was "Home", which i think was a drama about juvenile deliquents being locked up and then trying to reintegrate into society.. The song went something like "Home, home..home is on the other side....".

SANFL tv coverage was through ABC too, i can recall Wally Foreman hosting it for a year or 2, as well as Mike McCann too I think.

Had no real choice a lot of the time but to give the family VCR a big work out.

Astro Boy? Used to watch that one every night when a tacker, as well as Grange Hill - loved that show.

When TV stations used to close each night, and have the "close" music. It was considered revolutionary when Channel 9 then started the local Mid-Dawn show, hosting by Bob Pucetti (from memory??), where it was entirely locally produced and had everything from used cars to gardening products on sale all night.

This was just before Nine started showing MTV every Friday and Saturday night with Richard Wilkins, used to love staying up for that to wait for "World Premiere" and "Australian Premiere" videos each night. Did anyone here watch the night that Paul Hester appeared on there, gradually getting more and more outrageous, finishing with drawing a face on Wilkins' stomach with texta?
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

Yeah i watched Chances in the early 90's, it actually started out with an interesting premise (family winning lotto), but then just went all stupid very early on. Its fair to say that the actual storylines weren't the reason for watching.
