I shop at IGA because they are locally owned

I try to do the same- the bride insists on shopping at Coles, due to her flybuys, and the fact that she's only a million points away from a cheap pair of sunnies... :Hangman:

I try to shop at our local IGA at Stirling, but the fact that their prices seem to run about 20% higher than the Coles at Bridgewater for the same items inhibits me. Woolworths used to get my business a couple of years ago, but they seem to be stocking less and less of the items I usually buy.
I agree flybuys are about as meaningful (and valueless) as the points on my Diners Club card.

I buy all my hamburgers at Food and Stuff, a place equidistant from my home and work.

I love Food and Stuff. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff

I've never understood that - Coles Myer must have some extremely long term lease going on there. I thought a foodland or Woolies would've made it's way in there ages ago.

There are actually 2 Coles at Ingle Farm shopping Centre - which was simply re-badged when they took Bi-lo out of SA.

Same at Sunshine here in Melbourne. Woolworth's on each side of the road in different shopping centers. Yet the locals will only shop at the one they used too and not the other. So if they go to the Plaza one they won't go to the one across the road and vice versa.
