Wasn't that stupid beyond belief?

No longer can one simply pull out the sports (and flip through 16 pages of complete dreck about loser Victorian clubs that a tiny minority gives a stuff about in order to get to the single page of SANFL writeups authored by biased know-nothing cretins like Warren Partland, but that is another peeve). Now one has to wait for the missus to get through the first two dozen pages before prying the sports away from her.

I now buy it solely for the telly guide. Nothing else.

Sorry 'old man' but I suspect you'd be more than capable of doing it yourself.

I received delivery 7 days a week, the missus liked to read them on the weekend and the sport would kill 30 seconds of my time at work each day.

Advertiser/Sunday Mail delivery people rang me up 3 weeks ago, advised they had changed the way they bill people, instead of sending bills out every month which I'd pay with Bpay on the net they were now going to bill people 3 monthly, fine I said, that suits me having to log onto the net to pay a bill less times.
Got my new 3 monthly bill 2 weeks ago, paid it like I had been paying my monthly bill for years, then didn't receive delivery 3 days in a row.
Rang them up and they said they hadn't received payment but then when they checked their records they could see the only difference was I paid 3 times as much as I normally had!

They apologised but I then got my Mon-Fri subscription cancelled there and then (missus still likes the read on the weekend).

I've always been amazed at how much better the Herald Sun is a paper despite being owned by the same company as the Adveriser and sharing stories. If the Advertiser completely dumped all but a couple of writers and just used the Herald Sun journos I'd be more likely to buy it.

Only paper I buy now during the week is the Australian to get decent news on the Wallabies.

On the flip side Wedgie. I haven't had a payment taken by them from my account for over 6 months when my $18 - 7 day delivery special expired, yet I have still been having the 7-day deliveries being made. :D

Perhaps the message hasn't got down to the driver in my area yet.....

Oh, and he tosses it* right near my front door steps every day. Great throw.

My bastard had me hunting through the bushes most of the time.

I was amazed that the new flat pack was always on my driveway as I thought they'd act like frisbees and if a freak air current hit they might end up a few houses away!

Yeah I'd been getting mine for a while, probably 2 or 3 weeks.
I used to spend more time trying to unwrap the bloody thing than it would take to read, the flat pack made this time about the same. ;)

I haven't subscribed to any SA newspaper since 1999, but since returning I've occasionally bought a Sunday Mail to read about the footy and get the TV programme.
I don't any more because the free local paper does a TV programme now.
My wife used to get The Age in Melbourne, and The Spectator from the UK.

I'm annoyed that Rupert requires pre-payment in advance for home deliveries. And I only get Sat and Sun papers delivered to home.

I'd assume all newspapers in the world would be down a fair chunk in the last 12 months with the further popularity of smartphones, tablet pcs, etc.

I recall something recently on radio to the effect that they are on average down about 11% and still falling.
