Mate, it's not that bad of an idea, we had a budget wedding that still cost around 10K according to the missus, so it was probably 15K in the real world.

Yeah, I couldn't see why it is more fitting for a funeral, not only will you never walk alone, you'll never walk full stop.

What was your 'wedding song'?

Married: Clare Valley, 25th March 2006, 11am (already had topped 35 degrees at that stage)
Reception: Clare Valley winery
Song: Didn't have one, but that reminds me of a funny story....

I went to a work colleague mate of mine's wedding. The groom was marrying his long time girlfriend who was.......um, large-ish in size. She wore a strapless dress which didn't really agree with her, but I digress.....

The wedding was really nice, very laid back and in a garden setting. All good.

We then went back for the service down at West Lakes.

The introductions started and then when the bride and groom walked in I hear this song. My boss and I looked at each other... couldn't believe it, the song they walked in to the reception was the "Baby Elephant Walk" by Henry Mancini. My boss and I were chuckling away like 7 year old schoolgirls as the rest of the room wondered what the hell we were on!

Definitely a wedding to remember.

LOL gadj !
Okay Mickey - I've lost track of the 'original' heard so many renditions - just liked that Barnsey one - so what is the original? :D

I don't think $$$$ count for much really in a wedding...

We had a budget budget wedding...lol.

Total cost under $2000 - married in a garden - reception in the local 'hall' - my mum made all the table decorations etc - my aunty made the dresses - my uncle was the photographer - my grandma made/decorated the cake - my other aunty did the bridal party make-up - my other uncle was MC and organised all the music - the groom and groomsmen hired their suits - the most expensive thing was the food and the alcohol - the catering was one of those 'spit roast caterers'.

Anyway everyone had a blast and we're still together 20 years later.

On the other hand - (sadly) - know a couple that spent the earth on their wedding only 2 years ago - had everything that opened and shut - everyone / everything was stunning - some of the best wedding photos I've ever seen also..... their marriage didn't even last 12 months :(

One of the best weddings I've ever attended was a beach wedding - that was a budget one as well - it was great - that is all but the 2 topless ladies that set up 'camp' only about 20 metres from the ceremony

We got married Sunnybrae farm March 28th 1998 (Sunnybrae Farm is behind Coopers Brewery) and also had the reception and most of the photos there. Certainly recommend it as it was very picturesque with the roses in bloom.

Cannot remember the song but can remember harps playing.

Even though I am a bloods supporter, I went with a bunch of mates to watch Centrals v Glenelg at Elizabeth oval for the first half and had a few "stomach settling" beers.

My wedding was in Loxton with a ceremony at 6pm in a garden setting.
As I said earlier, 46 degrees.
Reception was at Loxton Hotel. Very informal, cocktail party type event.
Everyone had a real party and we still get told it was the best wedding people had been too.
I know there were guests in the hotel's pool at 4am. Some nude. Some even um.....best left unsaid.
Our MC started the night by introducing herself (when we hadn't arrived):

"I'm not sure why I was chosen to be the MC, but R & M must have thought it would be a way to stop me embarrassing them. Anyway, let's all raise our glasses to the happy couple." At which point she skulled and encouraged everyone else to do same. She really set the scene.

Our wedding song was "Beautiful Day", while we also played a Kylie song and James Brown's "I Feel Good".

Honeymooned in Perth.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Two of the more interesting weddings I've been to were very budget:

One was held at the CDFC, with a spud van for catering. No joke!

The other was at the Overland Corner Hotel, where Mrs DW and I were two of seven people present (including the happy couple and celebrant). We were asked to attend that morning. The party then moved on to a camel farm near Morgan, where photos were taken. The others wore English Patient outfits, including a Nazi outfit, for the photos. A schnitzel then followed at a pub in Morgan.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.
