Did they have chickens in the paleolithic era?

It appears birds were well established in the Palaeolithic era, small Dinosaurs having already evolved feathers many years before... :D

So I broke the rules and had KF* today, ordering a three piece feed.

Because of a few orders (everyone at work), no-one checked the orders...

Get a minute to check it out...

Missing a vital part... the third piece of chicken!

You would think that was a fairly easy part to remember... ;)

Based on my experiences, over the space of six years with one particular outlet, the service of which would not be believed here if I wrote it all down, could I hazard a guess you were down South today?

Actually, at some point, I will diarise a lot of it - but missing a piece of chicken is usually one of their best parts.

We don't have KFC often ( 2 or 3 times a year max) but you can nearly count on the Torrensville store to not get it right most times, my missus rings and chucks a wobbly, they put her name in a book and next time we go back get a free meal. You would think it would be cheaper to employ people that can count to 15 instead of handing out free $35 meals all the time

One of Mr McSpaz's workmates went to a takeaway shop to get some lunch and came back munching on this rotisserie chicken, absolutely stoked because the chicken had three wings instead of two. He seemed to think that he'd got good value for his money. 'Three wings? They weren't all attached, were they?' MM asked. 'Yeah!' his mate replied. 'And you're eating it?' 'Yeah!' whereupon MM spat it, telling his mate in no uncertain terms that a third wing on a chicken was not a bonus, it was a mutation, and that therefore he should not be eating it!

I made a pledge to not touch KF* ever again after a few disappointing experiences about 5 years ago. So far so good.

Their burgers used to be alright, but the rest of their menu utter filth.

Been lucky enough to avoid any harrowing McD or HJ experiences 8)

Some years ago I regularly worked Saturdays and the ritual was for the 6 of us to have HJ's for lunch and for one bloke to go and collect it. My turn as lunch monitor and I collected half a dozen Double Beef Whoppers and rendezvoused with the rest of the lads. As each unwrapped his burger, one by one they began abusing me. It turned out that between us there was not a single lump of meat to be had. 6 burgers,no patties.
Returning to the store, the Manager and his minions forensically examined each one trying to find the faintest shred of evidence that I had scoffed down 12 All Beef Patties and was trying to scam him out of a dozen more. Eventually he conceded and offered to retrofit the meat to the buns. I asked for 6 completely new Burgers and had to endure another meeting of the minds before I got my way.

Worst experience I've had was a place called Gigi's Pizza in Ingle Farm. The pizza base was stale, ok to be expected from non-Pizza Hut/Dominoes pizza bars. Then there was the clincher - garlic bread had dead lice through it!

For about 18 months after that I would only eat pizza from Dominoes or Pizza Hut before discoering Miro's in Burton - now there's a top notch pizza bar.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

Dominos is very average at best, if it wasn't so cheap I couldn't imagine anyone buying it

At the outlet I visit regularly, over the course of six years, some of their better ones:

- Buying a three piece feed, of which only two pieces are present
- Asking to swap potato and gravy for coleslaw and ending up with either a) no coleslaw b) no potato and gravy, c) BOTH coleslaw and potato and gravy or d) both missing, along with one piece of chicken
- They ask which drink you would like, then don't give you any drink at all (apparently "Mountain Dew" is easily mistaken for "none at all")
- Receiving four pieces of chicken.
- No chips, or two serves of chips
- Receiving an order bearing next to no resemblence to the order placed, such as a burger meal when asking for a three piece feed.

In all cases, naturally, the amount charged remains steadfastly correct, this part of the order is always done properly.

When ringing to complain then either:

- The person at the end of the phone complains about how hard it is to get good staff, complains about how busy it has been that night or essentially, blames their staff for all issues.

- On one occasion, when asking to speak to the manager, the person at the end of the phone put it down, and then came back with a somewhat assumed voice. I picked this one reasonably quickly and asked to speak to the ACTUAL manager, not someone who had just promoted themselves.

All instances involve having one's details placed into a possibly mythical book, the details of which one can recite next time to receive said missing item, although on certain nights, I have driven back down there to swap meals over, which usually doesn't go down well.

Unfortunately, the nearest outlet is some time away so the opportunity to drive further away for a possibly incorrect order is not as much of an option. Much of the time, I simply go to the local takeaway, which serves wonderful food that is what was originally ordered and is great value for money.

Agree. Only had Dominos once. Can't imagine doing so again.

Agree too. The local takeaway sh!ts all over the franchises.

There is a reason why the food and the service is cheap and nasty. Anyone read Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation?

While not exactly fast food, but produced on the same principle, are those mass-produced sandwiches by a company in Vic available at the servos. :vom: :vom:

My kids have been brainwshed, they are trying to convince me that a roll "sub" from Subway is healthier and tastes better than a fresh cut roll from a snack bar or deli

I was a sandwich artist back in the day and seeing exactly how many of those vegetables were actually fresh put me off Subway for the most part. The tomatoes, cucumber and capsicum were fresh, but the lettuce, carrot and onion came in pre-packed bags in the freezer, and the rest came in a can. That was where I got fired for 'being disrespectful to the food'. Not much to respect, in my opinion! ;)
