Interestingly, the missus bought me a BBQ for my birthday and thankfully the hardware shop puts them together for a $20 fee. Thank god!
Imagine me having to put that together on Saturday, then the swing set on Sunday???
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Years ago my old man and his dad had a project to put together us kids chrissie present, one of those swing set thingies. they didnt have the restriction of no beer till half time though!!

took them pretty much all day. us kiddies were restricted to inside so we didnt know about it till it was done for more of a surprise, pity they didnt realise there was three little monkeys sitting in the window watching the whole process

The first time i assembled it i did it under a fairly large pergola, at night so i had some lighting to work by. Only problem was that the gap between the pergola supports was around 9 feet - the trampoline was 12 feet wide ! I couldn't get it out on to the back lawn.
It may have been easier to prop up the pergola and take one of the supports out temporarily.. ;)

I did actually contemplate that for a second or 2 !

When its time for the bike mate, buy it fully assembled. Just bought one on the weekend for my eldest, paid a little extra for them to put it together. Money VERY well spent !

Agreed, unfortunately the missus bought this one!

I used to build computers for my IT company, but with the wholesalers in Melbourne only charging $25 for assembly I gave it up.
I haven't checked to local scene yet but I expect to resurrect the company here because I enjoy it.

Many moons ago, on Xmas eve and whilst consuming copious quantities of West End beers, my mate and I needed to put a bike together for one of our kids.
I didn't realize just how hard it was going to be whilst under the spell of the booze, suffice to say that when we'd finished the task, we still had a few parts left over.
We fixed it up on Boxing Day before the cricket started and still talk about it to this day.
