Local? So you can feel whats happening? Uhuh, no way. An amnaesiac is the way to go, somewhere between out and not out.

I have a reference from my GP to a urologist for this purpose. It is currently pinned to the fridge with a magnet. Reading comments like the above does nothing to motivate me to go through with it...

Get it done, well worth the effort.Best part is Mrs.Boon no longer has to take hormone-changing baby bullets which cause who knows what sort of damage. * Insert Psyber link to medical journal here*

I did have some discomfort for a few days, but nothing more than that. Ask for a gereral anaesthetic, not just a local or an amnaesiac.

When returning samples for results in sperm count I had the people in the Doctors Surgery calling me a stallion, 9 months after the procedure I was still "active" , most people are clear in 3-4 months at most. It's not like I wasn't putting in the effort either.

So does the train still come to the station though Boon???
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

General anaesthesia is for wimps. I'll willingly submit to a local. With any luck they'll even prop up a mirror so I can watch the whole thing.

Medical procedure fascinates me. Pain, however, does not. The prospect of a needle being shoved deep into my taint is more than daunting.

This is almost worthy of its own thread. Any mods want to "snip" the vasectomy posts into their own thread?

I have a shocking memory, but highlight has been seeing my 2 sons grow up (3 & 6) with the youngster getting out of the cot, nappies, pusher all in 2009, so much easier now and more room in the boot! No.1 had a great year and I really enjoyed seeing him get involved in Auskick, Goalkick, Milo cricket & Joey Scouts on top of his first full year at school. He also got to play Auskick at a crows game and present a medal at the SANFL GF. A family road trip to Melb/Snow/Canberra was another highlight of the year. Also news Im going to be an Uncle for the first time, which is great cause my sister has had medical issues over the past few years.

No real lowlights 09 was a pretty good year, I fear for 2010 though unfortuantely...

- Having my left shoulder operated on in June this year!

Congrats on the newest Redlegs supporter!

2009 was a mixed year for me. Going well at work but I lost my Nan but got to go home to go to my Uncle's wedding. The Catters won the flag so can't complain about that and something else I can be thankful for is that Child number 4 was NOT brought into the world. Getting far too old to father children..don't want to end up like Cornsey!

Geez let the poor woman catch her breath after the last one.

Congrats BubbaG and a :ymhug: to you both.

The highlight for me has made this possibly the best year ever. Ireland winning the Grand Slam for the first time since 1948 was quite literally something I've waited my whole life to see happen and that wait was worth every second.

The lowlight would be two people I thought were good friends turning out not to be.

The start of a new era of my life..
The first 30 years ended with the end of my first marriage and the start of my professional career at the completion of medical training.
The second 30 years finished with my temporary retirement then my second wife's death.
My third period of life began in 2009 with my return to Adelaide - I wonder what the next 30 years will bring.
Each time I have changed significantly, losing weight and changing my appearance and lifestyle in subtle ways.
I'm beginning to feel like I'm Dr Who...

Highlights:

- getting my first story published in a real book and everything :D
- going with my four-year-old to K-Mart and watching him pick out a train set for the Wishing Tree completely off his own bat
- defeating all the Dark Aeons in Final Fantasy X (nerd)
- finding out unexpectedly that I'm having another child next year

Lowlights: too depressing. Not even going to think about them. The good outweighs the bad in any case. :)
