Some bird on Facebook in America has the same first and surname as me...I'm older (judging by the photo so I have copyright haha)

I'm guessing we could be distant relations as I know for a fact that anyone in the UK with the same surname is related...it's a German name and we're the only family with our surname spelt the way it is.

i'm a baseball pitcher in the minor leagues in the US!!!!

and also, just a couple months ago, a kid with the same name (different middle name though) passed away here in adelaide, and was only a couple months older than me (i'm 23)

was a bit weird, coz the spelling of my first name is a bit different, so to see my name in the death notices in the paper was a bit weird. whats even weirder is how i found out, a mate of mine seen a Facebook tribute page to "me", saying "RIP ________" (not sure if we are actually allowed to reveal our names on here,as no one else has, i thought i better not do it either!), so the friend of mine, who i havnt seen for a couple months promptly called me to see if i was alive!

Pretty sure about 5 million + people share my name. At my last job in London there were 4 others with the same name. When I enrolled at Uni I almost got enrolled in the wrong course because there was another girl with exactly the same name (including middle name) and birthday.

Googled my name once, already knew there is a University in the US with my surname but found that there is a series of shopping malls with my first name and you can apply for a linked credit card with the Uni which is called a "my first name then my surname" credit card.

haha...I think I'd rather not have to blow the road trip fund on out of court settlements for fraud or whatever claiming businesses that aren't really yours is called.

A quick search for our name on Yahoo sorted it, I think. Looks like she's a co-ordinator at a domestic abuse centre (spooky coincidence cos before I joined the RAF I helped as a part-time volunteer at a 'battered wives refuge'...as they were called back then) anyway found a link and email and passed it on.

Hey, that's what we said, we thought that with our family name, there was only the 5 of us in Australia and 1 left in Italy... until I googled my mums name for some reason and it came up with thousands of pages for the most sucessful travel agency in Germany!

Turns out he was a cousin or brother or something of my late grandfather that no one knew about... so mum got in contact and has been over to Germany to meet them since.

My name is so bloody common it's not funny :( But I have to be thankful in a way... my mother butted in after my father wanted to call me Brandy
