Taronga's pretty good.

Best time I had at Adelaide Zoo was when I went there with school in year 9. We were all at the lion's enclosure when a big male lion sauntered up to the fence, turned his back to us, cocked his leg and let rip.

Those buggers p!$$ a mile!

One unfortunate kid copped most of it. Reeked of lion p!$$ for the rest of the day.

Don't go to zoos anymore.

Have a phobia about big cats escaping from their enclosures.

Pretty tough to judge at the moment given all the work going on as mentioned before. Seriously though the Zoo isn't purely there for entertainment. A hell of a lot of work goes on in research and education and it is a very important place. Do not underestimate the significane of the Pandas either. If (and it's a massive if) they breed it will be a very significant event.

Yes rod that's exactly what's going on behind the scenes. The zoo has now morphed into more of an educational facility rather than an entertainment one. The children of today will never have to see the horrific conditions most animals in small concrete wire cages had to endure in the old days. The zoo also is involved in breeding programs in liaison with other zoos around the world and Monarto.
