Very sad to hear anyone go at such a young age. Thoughts are with you LC hope the next few days aren't any harder than they have to be. Cherish the good times you have shared together, i am sure they will never leave you.

Some people may find your posting about such a sensitive topic on an open forum as perculiar, I for one see it as the exact opposite. It shows the respect that is in place amongst this online community and whether or not any of us have met is of little consequence as all of us, to a (wo)man have our thoughts with you LC.

I hope the support shown to you in here plays some part, be it small or otherwise in helping you through this difficult time.

Mrs.Boon at times gets called into the study to read posts on here, she sends her thoughts to you.

Very well put Booney and I'll second those sentiments wholeheartedly.

Long live good memories LC.

LC, I am so sorry to hear the very sad news, please accept my most sincere condolences.
We all tend to take things including life, for granted, it's not until this very thing hits you personally that you begin to understand how vulnerable we all are.
Your friends out here in the safooty.net community are always available for some friendly banter and are thinking of you at this sad time.

=D> I agree with you there Booney. It's hard losing one you love but sometimes the support that you can get from an online forum helps ease the pain a little.

I certainly found the words of support on this [and another forum I frequent] helpful when my wife died last October.
At such times we need the support of all the friends we have, and to feel free to express our sense of loss.
I'm glad LC has found that support here too - it is extra painful that her loss was of someone so young, and therefore it was so unexpected.
At least I had some warning and time to prepare for the idea, even if it happened sooner than expected...

I've largely moved on with life now, but I am aware the anniversary of my loss is coming up next month.

OMG Lunchie - I am so so sorry.

I feel you have a relationship with your husband the same as I have with mine and I can't imagine the pain you are feeling - but I do know that with the support you have on here, we would all take a little bit each from you and ease the burden if we could.

Hope you can feel the big ((HUGS)) coming your way from me. Have a little weep on my shoulder, dust yourself off and carry on bravely. :goodman:

This thread certainly puts things in perspective for Glenelg and Saints fans on the weekend....life is too short to be bitter about a game of footy....

Just came across this after being away from the site in recent days - very sad to hear that LC and very admirable of you to check in and give us all a wake up call with such a fitting title for this thread.

No doubt recent days have been very very tough, but with the support of your family and friends you will find your way out of empty places and back in to a routine in your own time.

Gotta agree with Booney too - occassionally Mrs Squawk gets called in to read a post too. Hopefully your pain will inspire many to say what they need to say to those they need to say it to, before life catches us all up too quickly and leaves us with regrets we dont have to have.

All the best LC. :ympray:

awwww you guys  thank you again - we buried Joe today and 250 people turned out to say their last goodbyes. Our non-religious celebration of life went for just over one hour and 45 minutes of that was the Eulogy's (sp?) - in fact Keith Russell told me he was even embarrased to give me the bill because he didn't have to do too much at all... people were lining up to pay tribute to my dh and at his work they now named an achievement trophy in his name as a mark of respect to him. He would have been stoked. thanks again, you guys and girls are cool and yes I have found comfort here at safooty.net

Sorry to hear LC.

About 3 weeks ago we had a player have a heart attack during the C Grade semi final and to see the ambos and trainers performing cpr on him on the field, its hard to watch. Also, my father had one the friday after that so i def know how hard it is when it happens. Both are doing ok now though thankfully.

All the best though LC.
