WTF? It ended up being a liquorland express or something anyway, didn't it?

Might go have to have a look in the first choice I reckon...

Hampstead recently changed ownership, perhaps the new owners also own First Choice?

They were good bargains on Saturday, got my stocks for the summer.

Perhaps not so recently then! I had heard Coles bought it at some point, I haven't been there in ages so it could have been a while back.

First Choice could well be owned by Coles, negating the need for a drive through.

When Fahey sold it I thought he sold it to a group from Melbourne along with the Paradise
I dont think Coles ever owned the pub just the rights to the bottlo branding

The temporary security fence around the place was coming down this morning, so it looks like demolition will be starting soon. I suppose they would want the new pub open by Christmas. Eight months to rebuild from scratch I suppose that is feasible?

Coles own the Hampstead, they got the rid of the drive-thru because they wanted to start the First Choice brand and had the space next door.

Any hotel with a Liquorland Express is owned by Coles. Any hotel with a BWS bottleshop is owned by Woolies.

Correct Pag, the Hampstead and the new Liquor outlet belong to the Coles Myer group.

The Walkers Arms has been the subject of an insurance investigation I believe and obviously if work is commencing, it appears an outcome has been reached.

Dont think so. Bar manager reported that there was no damage and they werent even aware there was a fight or dispute between him and his mrs.

2/3 demolished yesterday. It's amazing it must be cheaper to just knock it down rather than salvage items such as door and window frames etc. Seems like a terrible waste of usable building material.
