yes, I certainly remember that TS teacher- I was never in his class, but the stories had a common theme.
I believe the light trap in the Photography room was his specialty...

The most inspiring teacher I had was a Salesian named Brother Noel Hannaberry. He taught Maths I and II, Physics and Chemistry to Year 12 at the College for many, many years. Used a simply teaching style but, boy, did he get results! Also one of the nicest guys you will ever find.
I am fortunate to have also taught with some wonderful teachers at various schools, not the least of which is my current one, Saint Ignatius.
Cheers

I fondly remember my PE Teacher at Highschool John Donaldson (think his brother was a runner for West Adelaide at the time and I think it's either his son or nephew that has played for Westies in the last few years (age would be right)...... he was really laid back at gave me heaps of lessons off as I was the only one he wanted umpiring the junior/senior basketball and netball... (probably contributed to my low year 12 score) hehehehehe

It'd be good to mention a teacher who helped me, as I know that without the help of the teachers at my school, I wouldn't have finished.

I had a maths teacher in various times through high school and at my most rambunctious I used to give him a hell of a time.
In my class we would stir him up deliberately to make him spit the dummy, then we'd mark a 'red dot' in our diary (red dot symbolising it was that time of the month). We'd try and see how many red dots we could get.

We gave him a hell of a time.

But this teacher was also a football umpire and occasionally he'd officiate in our games (we had him in Samboy Cup regularly) and he'd always be friendly to me when our paths crossed.

By the time Year 12 came around, he was my business maths teacher and did everything he could to help me get a good mark. We became quite friendly over that year and I know have a huge amount of respect for him and the efforts he put in to help me out. I bumped into him a couple of times after uni and always sad 'g'day'.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

At my high school we had an American exchange teacher, he used to get hell from everyone, i'd be surprised if he didn't have a nervous break down.

He was a Tech Studies teacher, and i recall some students put the clock forward in the wood work class and everyone finished up going home 20 minutes or so early lol.

social studies teacher Neitzy, used to muck about kicking the footy with us while we were in class.

also in class room loved to jump on chairs to take speccy's, one day he got a little over excited and decided to climb the cupboard and the chair on top to get up near the ceiling, then the chair started wobbling about..............................

some of the EP boys may know who I am talking about here so I wont mention any names.

Firstly my maths teacher through out high school good character loved the punt and was the year level co-ordinator in year 12. Called me a bl**dy d*ck-head for failing the first physics test of year twelve. All I said back was yes I know. Same teacher busted a group of lads for playing a highly organised game of poker. Never forget what he said upon walking into the room. What's going on here you jokers. extremely hard to keep a straight face. He has now retired and If I ever saw him again with a bar near by I would not hesitate to buy him a beer.

Year 10 birds and the bees lecture. Boys only in a catholic school........my oh my hillarious stuff (girls went elsewhere for their talk). Half of us sent out side and no-one dared look up from the ground with out pis*ing themselves laughing and joining the queue outside.

year 10 PE we made the teacher cry deadset laughing our as*es off and used to have one helluva good screaming voice it could break windows.

and finally year 11 biology. Deadset strange cookie, could barely raise her voice above a loud whisper and used to rabble on about some weird things. Once gave me 35 out of 40 for a multiple choice test....I could only count 19 ticked answers. No of course I didn't tell her and I wasn't the only one either....

Frau German teacher, used to give her heaps, the class kept asking for Deutsch swearwords...One day she walked in, yelled at us, pulled down the double blackboard and there is was... Fick dich, hundin, scheissekopf, Arschloch etc about 30swear word...She said zehn minuten, and walked out...10 minutes later in she comes wipes the blackboard and says write a story...

Well the close for once did as she said, and all the stories sounded like a Hard core - Eastern European Porn flick !! She graded us on them and most people passed with flying colours...German was good after that !!
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Ahhh, the memories come flooding back.
We had about 4 or 5 sessions of "Birds and Bees" in year 8. It all started at the low end of the scale "it is okay to hold hands kids", and worked itself up to the bit where the birds and bees get it on. Because these were special classes put on, we attended in a combined group of two usual classes in one. My class had a bad rep', and the other class that had to attend with ours had a good rep'. By the end of the penultimate session the good class's teacher had become so frustrated by our group that she refused to allow her class to be mixed with ours for the final session. Caused a big hullabaloo because they had to make up a special time table just because we were "so bad". The good class teacher even told her students not to socialize with us at lunch and recess.
The final class took place just as Heater described above. We had been subjected to special sessions with various disciplinary heavyweights from about the school, that if we so much as laughed during the last session, then there'd be all hell to pay.
"no-one dared look up from the ground with out pis*ing themselves laughing and joining the queue outside.".....this line sums up the mood beautifully, though for us there was no queue waiting outside, we were all in fear of some all new, experimental mystery punishment.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Mr Garrison would be my most memorable teacher.
With Mr Hat, Mr Slave and eventually the change to Mrs Garrison, he/she stands out in my mind.
the lesson learned with Lemmiwinks was genius.

A deputy Principal at Craigmore High School was Mr. Wilson. He never got angry, or raised his voice but I was always intimidated by him. About 5 or 6 years after I left school, I was in Rundle Mall with Mrs Tigersupporter an TS junior, and I saw him having lunch there. I walked up to him and he stood up and shook my hand and said it was nice too see me somewhere else other than in front of his office. He told me he had just retired and was enjoying doing nothing. Here I was, a Husband and a Father and I was still intimidated by him. That was 17 years ago. I hope he is still enjoying himself.

I got three that I'll never forget.
Sister Anne (yes I went to a convent til I was 13) a nightmare in navy and white. The most vicious old school nun you could ever meet. Imagine that one from the blues brothers and multiply by 100. She was in charge of the juniors and every day we would see parents waiting outside her office litterally shaking with fear

Another nun...Sister Stanislaus was my latin and greek teacher...she was ancient (must have been well into her 60's  ) to us kids. A lovlier sweeter person you couldn't wish for. Last I heard on 'Friends Reunited' was that she was killed by the IRA in a train bombing on a trip back to Ireland in the 70's

Finally there was Mr Harding...science teacher extrordinaire. He was obsessed with warfare especially WW1 and WW2. Even used to teach his classes how to make the perfect Molotof Cocktails (details long forgotten). He would never walk anywhere...he marched like a Sergeant Major on parade with a gorgeous Irish Setter always at his side :D

Happy days...mostly
Regards

Wow, i remember that guy and the incident, think it happened in Murray Bridge.

Was he a teacher at your school at the time of the offences and/or arrest?

His name is Dieter Pfennig,

He also taught my Mrs, she reckons he was creepy at the time.

Never had him as a teacher, but he was a gymnastics instructor when I was about year 6. Me and my 2 sisters went to a 4 day camp and he was one of the adult supervisors. Reakon it was 2-3 years before the murder. Mum still counts her lucky stars to this day....

Mrs Seagrim at Camden was memorable because of the amount of heads she banged together whilst I was in Grade 2.

Lovely lady though !

Agreed, Mrs Seagrim was a fantastic teracher when I was in Grade 2 also.

Most memorably thing was she managed to bribe every kid in the class to barrack for Glenelg by giving out free stickers as a bribe. One lone kid in the class didn't fall for it though and left class without a sticker, yep, you guessed it, me. :D
