Ahh yes... Australia Day.... What a weekend planned, Beer, Music, Women, Pool & Mates....

Quite luckily I have a 4 day working this week as I have a RDO this Friday. Then next week a 1 day working week as i have Drs appointments all day Tuesday and Annual Leave on the Thursday & Friday (Thurs = Resting up for the BDO)

Hehehe I put in for the annual leave last year when i found out the dates for the BDO.

I asked my boss the other week when our monthly RDO was and he had no idea so i suggested why not have a 4 day weekend over Australia Day, his reply was "you slack f**k" so i said "youre being un-australian" hahaha, he had a good laugh and made this friday our RDO

as an aboriginal man, i do look back at our countries history. i don't celebrate Australia Day for the fact that Australia was "founded", i celebrate Australia Day for that fact of what it is to be an Australian.

can you imagine Australia without its Aboriginal culture, an Australia without green and gold, an australia without Australian Rules Football, an Australia without Vegemite...you get the point

when i hear the national anthem i get goose bumps and usually am singing loudly to it (some of the poster's on here will atest to that).

i have the same feeling of pride when i see the Aboriginal flag as i do when i see the Australian flag. that is why i want a tattoo near my heart of an Aboriginal flag and Australian flag side by side (right next to my beloved Glenelg logo)

yes our country has a black past, and black and white Australians should acknowledge that and move forward together, to make Australia something our kids and grandkids can be proud of!

I'm going to a Hindu "coming out" ceremony this weekend for an Indian friend's daughter - she has to sing and dance and demonstrate her skills in such aspects of Hindu culture, and has been training for 6 months for it..

Sadly fellas, the dodgy wicket (almost dead back lawn) is not my friend and smac jrs Max Walker style action has me completely baffled. Automatic wickey must have taken 30 catches off my batting.

He's not bad at sledging either.
